Everyone has something they fear. For me personally, I have many fears. I have learned over the past couple of years that it is okay to fear, but it is how you manage and possibly conquer that fear that matters most.
I once had a TERRIFYING fear of flying. It was not, just a, “I hate flying, because it’s uncomfortable” or, “I hate flying, because I’m scared of heights” fear.
My fear of flying was CRIPPLING.
But I wasn’t always afraid of flying…
As a child, I remember loving to fly. I didn’t fly very often, so when I did, it was a total treat. Packing my stuff, going to the airport, boarding th ..read more

Hi. My name is Jessica Trufant, and I suffered from hormonal acne.
When I went though puberty, while most teeny-boppers had a face full of acne, I NEVER got ONE pimple. Seriously. It was normal for me to have great skin. As I entered my adult years it was the same story, except I started using CLEARISIL as a face wash because my husband did. CLEARISIL, PEOPLE! I was the girl who slept in a face full of makeup and my skin was unbothered. I had no clue how lucky I was to have such nice skin.
A few years ago, I visited a naturopath and she decided to help me “reset” my hormones. Well, the “reset ..read more

What makes a “good” Christian? Who decides who is worthy of being a “good” or “bad” Christian anyways? Isn’t it only for God to decide?
I am a Christian and I love the Lord. It may not seem like it, between the cursing, screaming, tequila, and trap music, but deep down inside I know God is the King of all Kings, and I pray to enter His gates and walk along side Him one day.
I often feel like some people take advantage of having the label of being a Christian. They use it as a way to put themselves on a pedestal and to tear others down. DO NOT MISINTERPRET WHAT I AM SAYING! There are so many p ..read more

I like to write about my relationship with my husband from time to time. Do you remember the song, “Opposites Attract” by Paula Abdul? That pretty much sums the two of us up! I am wild, he is not. I have a big mouth, he does not. I have a lack of filter, he has total control. I am an anxious -Annie, he is cool, calm and collected. I am impulsive, he is methodical. I always want to be doing something outside of the house, while he is content with being home. I live for tequila, and he loves a good Moscow Mule.
We could not be more opposite, but I think that is what makes us perfect for one anot ..read more

I wasn’t sure what to expect, going to a hotel where everyone is quiet and walks around in bathrobes and slippers. Anytime I go on a mini-vacay, I am loud as hell and feel the need to walk around dressed to the nines in Stiller’s heels. I knew the hotel was absolutely stunning, but would I feel comfortable? Absolutely! I felt like the best, quiet version of myself and I want to go back every year!
Here is why I LOVED the Post Hotel:
The hotel was beautiful. As soon as you walk in, you feel relaxed and comfortable. Almost like you’re at home. There is a welcoming sitting area and you see not ..read more

I was very smart and sassy as a kid. I was one of the youngest (and of course, shortest) kids in my kindergarten class. I enjoyed school; school was fun for me, because I already knew all my ABCs and numbers.
School was easy!
I remember around second grade I started getting in trouble for talking too much. Another girl and I would sit in class and talk until we’d get in trouble and have to spend our lunches inside. I will never forget when the woman who ran lunch-detention affectionately named my friend and I “M&M,” (motor mouth). Detention and I became good friends and we began seeing ea ..read more

I am really starting to hate Christmas.
This time of year, I feel an extreme amount of pressure and anxiety. There is SO MUCH emphasis put on GIVING and SPENDING money, that over the last few years I have hardly wanted to do Christmas at all. Around this time of the year I feel stretched so thin and it has really sucked the joy out of the holiday season. I feel a little guilty, because it is almost as if I have forgotten what Christmas is all about.
I have been completely brainwashed my the media and have fallen victim to Christmas being about PRESENTS, PRESENTS, PRESENTS! Everyone wants an ..read more

Kimora’s slime-themed 10th birthday party; parents consider this a warning, you’re welcome in advance.
I love parties. I’m all for going all-out and doing the absolute most in the name of fun. My daughter, Kimora, got a big birthday for her the big TEN! I had to go all out for her. When my oldest daughter turned ten, I turned my upstairs into a spa for her and friends, they got pedi’s, little robes, face masks you name it! It’s only fair that I show Kimora the same birthday love.
Kimora chose her birthday theme… in hindsight I should have immediately said no, but I’m stupid.

It’s easy as one, two, FRY IT!
When I told everyone I was going to deep-fry my first turkey, the looks they gave me were filled will sheer terror. I immediately heard many Thanksgiving horror stories of houses going down in flames, deep-fried turkeys being so charred that they came out black, and even turkeys being so fried on the outside but absolutely RAW on the inside! But my mind was set and I was not backing down now; I was going to fry me a turkey come hell or high-water. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to test the process before November 24th. I was having an early Thanksgivin ..read more
