A Little Lounge Refresh With Desenio*

Since I share my original lounge makeover post, I’ve been tweaking the odd thing here and there but I think I am FINALLY happy with this room. Earlier this year we were able to replace the carpet which has completely transformed this space. We also finished up cycling the sideboard that sits underneath the TV which I am very pleased with. We had the paint colour matched to the navy wall and it looks really lovely. I always feel like its the way you style a room though which is what really finishes it off. I’m often drawn to very scandi style interiors I find. I just love the simplicity of them ..read more

The Working Mum Juggle

As a mother, I of course want to support and protect my babies as much as I possibly can. Whether they are with me or not, I am pretty much always worrying about them. Asking myself is they’re having fun, wondering if they are both getting on okay, and worrying whether they miss me as much as I miss them. (Spoiler; probably not, they’re too busy having fun!) The world is such a scary place and some days I do wish I could be with them all the time, holding their hand whenever they need me. But sadly this just isn’t realistic as Mama’s gotta go to work! I recently increased my hours at work and ..read more

Why Getting A Dog Was Our Best Decision This Year
Life With Mrs Lee | A Family & Lifestyle Blog

I can hands down say that welcoming Murphy into our family in January was the best decision we have made this year. I’m a strong believer that a dog makes a house a home and he really was the missing part to our family puzzle. I also think that having a pet is a great way to teach responsibility, especially in children. Having a dog in our lives again has been wonderful. However, it is a HUGE commitment and not something that we rushed into. I knew right from the get go that I didn’t want a puppy. They are of course very cute but also there is a lot of hard work that comes with training a ..read more

Sausage, Apple & Potato Tray Bake

It’s OFFICIALLY Autumn. Which I am so very pleased about. Summer is lovely, yes, but it’s really not my jam. So to celebrate the start of my favourite season, I thought I would share one of my go-to Autumnal dinner recipes. It’s one of those one dish wonders that fills your kitchen with the most delicious aromas of rosemary and garlic. I love a tray bake dinner and this one is super easy to throw together and only uses a handful of ingredients. The best thing about this kind of recipe is that once you’ve popped it in the oven, you can forget about it for the next 30-40 minutes and get on with ..read more

Glamping at Highermoor Farm, Dorset

As promised I thought I’d write a post all about our recent stay at Highermoor Farm in Weymouth, Dorset. We camped here once before back in 2015 I think it was when Bella was about one and a half. It was our first experience of camping with a child in tow and we had the best time! Josh and I both always said how we would love to go back. So when I won their competition on Instagram for 3 nights in one of their beautiful Bell Tents, I was suuuuper excited to head back with both kiddos. The weather forecast before we left wasn’t look great so I made sure we packed for all eventualities. Our driv ..read more

Oh hi, hello, remember me? Apologies for my radio silence over the past couple of months. It seems the summer holidays were much more full on than I anticipated! But after a well overdue blog refresh I’m feeling super excited about my little space on the internet again. For so long I have felt a bit lost when it came to this blog and what direction I wanted to take it in. But then I realised that actually it’s okay to just post as and when I fancy it. And about whatever the hell I like! This is not my full time job after all. And as soon as I took that pressure off, I found myself itching to s ..read more

Life Skills I Want To Teach My Children
Life With Mrs Lee | A Family & Lifestyle Blog

In life, Josh and I seem to like to undertake as many tasks as we possibly can. Usually all at once too. Whether it be tackling the garden or hanging a shelf. We’re ALWAYS doing something. But I honestly believe that by having the life skills to do these tasks ourselves, it saves us a hell of a lot of money in the long run. Which got me thinking about what life lessons I want to ensure that our children both have to help them out later in life. Taking in an array of life skills can go a long way, especially in this incredibly fast paced world we live in these days. I suppose a life skill that ..read more

Our Bedroom Makeover Ft Simba*

*Advertorial – This post contains an affiliate link* When we first bought our house almost two years ago, we prioritised renovating the downstairs first. The bedrooms were totally liveable, just not to our taste. Eventually the time came to start decorating upstairs and we made sure the children’s bedrooms were done first and left us until last. But we have FINALLY done it and I am so pleased with how it turned out. Our bedroom is the middle sized room and at the back of the house. We went for a dark forest green on the walls in the end which I am totally obsessed with. We then accessoris ..read more

Scandi Bathroom Inspo

Despite the fact we have decided to put our bathroom renovations on hold for now, I still can’t stop swooning over my dream bathroom on Pinterest or trawling online picking out different accessories. So I thought I’d share a bit of inspiration and the kind of things I would do if I had the money right now (spoiler; I don’t). At the moment our family bathroom and toilet are separate so the first thing we’d do would be to knock the wall down between to make one bigger room. We would then probably block up both doorways and put a new door in centrally between the two previous ones. The ceiling wo ..read more

Chicken Chow Mein {10 Minute Recipe}

You know how Jamie Oliver has a 15 and a 30 minute meals book but that the recipes ALWAYS take at least double that? Well this chow mein recipe honestly takes just 10 minutes. And yes, I timed it. A perfect one for midweek when you’re short on time. And a healthy tasty dinner like this that can be on the table in super quick time to feed a hangry family is just too good not to share! This recipe originally came from a recent Gousto box but I have tweaked it slightly. There is only a few ingredients which I am usually dubious about but I needn’t have worried as the flavours are still bloody del ..read more
