So I have successfully converted the Sj4000 4K into a night vision camera. I know there are tons of videos on how well it works. Now I want to have a night vision action camera that I can hook up an external mic to it. (The sj4000 doesn’t have an external mic option). I have tried a couple of the cheap action cameras on Amazon and removed the IR filter on the lens. Unlike the sj4000, when I do this, the action camera didn’t pick up the ir light. I have had experiences for over 14 years and am deciding to take it a step forward. Any recommendations for cheaper equipment that is still worth while, maybe under $200 or the maximum being $300? Any specific brands and things? I have an EMF detector that I won for a ghost hunting kit and I have been using it. I also have a cheap $20 digital recorder I got form amazon.
