I am just finishing my first batch of hard cider which is right at 4 weeks old. The Cider has gone dry (1.00 final reading) and it has completely cleared (no bubbles at all). I used a full packet of yeast for this batch and it has maintained a “yeasty” smell all through the initial fermentation. I racked it today into a plastic carboy (siphon) being carful not introduce oxygen. Gave it a taste and the “yeasty” character is still very strong. So the story goes like this... 46 liter pot and 27 cider bottles that were extra slow to carbonate because they are 9%abv. One bottle in the center on a jar lid for bottle temperature control. While heating the water i tought to myself "could temperature be higher in a capped bottle because of the pressure?".. Maybe someone can answer to this question here.
Ok i will continue... Water was heated on 2 burners, bottles were put in a 40c water.
The time frame goes like this : Temp test bottle reaches 63c Water temp 65c

Been using starsan for a while, but my local homebrew supplier shut down so I tried to order I'm from Amazon and found out it doesn't ship to my state (WA) I've recently moved on to Saniclean but was wondering y it doesn't ship to my state

A fellow member of my homebrew club told me last night that a professional brewer that he knows has switched to using dairy equipment cleaner instead of the expensive brewing chemicals. So the member said that he has also switched to using this product instead of PBW. Has anyone here ever tried this? And if so what do you think of it? How easily does it rinse off?
