“Mother Pizza” in Kødbyen, Copenhagen – Is it good?

Restaurant Mother in Copenhagen If you’re in Copenhagen and you fancy eating pizza then fret not as that is something that is easy to find here. We have more than 50 pizza places in the city, probably even more. But I alone can at least count up to 12 different pizzarias and that’s just the ones I know of on top of my head. I’ve long wanted to visit Mother in Kødbyen. Perhaps a bit odd I haven’t made my way there until now, since it’s been around for quite some years by now. There’s even another pizzaria in Kødbyen called ‘Dej’ that’s newer, and I’ve visited that!? Well, I finally came around ..read more

Last seen in the cinema: “Little Women”.

My friend Vanessa and I went to see Little Women at the cinema. We both really love the original movie (and I believe Vanessa also loves the book, however I haven’t read it) so naturally we had to see the new version. Greta Gerwig directed the movie, and I quite liked the movie Lady Bird which she also directed so I had high hopes for this version of Little Women. A part from that, the new cast was also pretty amazing. If you have seen any of my other movie posts, you will have noticed that Saoirse Ronan’s face has popped up a few times. She just honestly picks great roles, and almost anythi ..read more

Six years together

Today Matt and I celebrated our six years anniversary. We had a ‘hyggelig’ little day planned out with a trip to a furniture store to buy our new sofa followed by a small stop at a nearby plant nursery. If you didn’t know; I love plants. Mainly succulents and similar types as they are harder for me to kill lol We went to Plantorama in Hillerød, which is north of Copenhagen, and had a look around. To be honest Matt mainly did this for me, because he knows how much I like little plants. We then went home and got ready for our dinner. We had booked a table at a nice restaurant in the city; Brød ..read more

Lola Fried Chicken in Copenhagen

Last night Matt and I went to watch the new Suicide Squad movie at Imperial movie theater in Copenhagen. We have previously walked past this little bright yellow Fried Chicken shop, and we thought it was about time to try it – plus it is only like 5 minutes away from the cinema. Lola Fried Chicken is a super small shop placed between two other shops. It looks ‘cool’ with its bright yellow walls and I am in general a fan of the theme of it. Both Matt and I love a good fried chicken, and we have long been fans of Jagger’s chicken nuggets (if you haven’t tried em’ yet go for it!). We were excited ..read more

Lunch at Lynge Kro and a stop at Fasters Have

Today I went to a small garden center called ‘Faster’s Have’ with my grandma’. I absolutely love spending time with my grandma, and we both like experiencing new places. As she really likes flowers, I thought it would be fun to take her to a nearby garden center. After the visit to Faster’s Have we went to a small old Danish inn ‘Lynge Kro’ (see photos further below) that was also in the neighbourhood. It was a great Sunday afternoon How cute are these mini tractors? Lynge Kro The room where we were placed was a bit run down. It seemed it needed a little tender care. Perhaps ..read more

Visiting my godmother in Hornbæk

On a sporadic Wednesday I went to visit my godmother in Hornbæk. She just became the proud owner of a summer house in Hornbæk and it happened to be very close to my job in Kvistgård. After work I drove to my godmoms house to see both her and my godsister. We had first talked about having some food at their summer house, but I was then asked if I wanted to go on a boat ride and then eat dinner at a small street food market in Hornbæk. As I don’t really go sailing too often I thought it sounded like a fun afternoon/evening. We were also joined by my godmoms friends brother Jeppe, who seemed lik ..read more

Barbecue picnic in the park

Near our house there’s a park, actually there are two parks, and in one of them there’s a few benches that are perfect for a little barbecue picnic. They in fact have a built-in metal grid to hold disposable grills – pretty smart! Matt and I met up with my friend Dj and her boyfriend Rasmus. The weather was great – a classic Danish summer evening. We had bought delicious sausages from Slagter Lund and gotten some good quality minced beef burger patties. Of course we had all the appropriate condiments to go with them too. As it had recently been Matt’s 30th Dj and Rasmus were very kind to buy ..read more

A lunch and a market in Dragør

There are many different markets in the Copenhagen area to visit, but in the summer it is particularly cozy to visit the harbour markets. One of these harbour markets are in the small town Dragør, which is on the island ‘Amager’ in Copenhagen. It’s near the big bridge that leads to Sweden and close to the airport, so if you’ve ever arrived to Denmark that way you may have actually seen it from above or from the bridge. There’s just something about Dragør that I love. It’s such a gem of a town and it is pretty close to Copenhagen city. However, it is not the easiest to get there with public tr ..read more

A small dairy shop in Nordsjælland: Humlebæk Mikro Mejeri

Humlebæk Mikro Mejeri Yesterday I decided to visit Nordsjællands perhaps cutest cheese shop. In fact this building actually houses a micro dairy and does not actually contain a large selection. There is however a purpose behind this decision. I asked the guy working there a bit about it and he told me that the owners wanted to create a small and old fashioned dairy. Meaning that their products will be made how they used to make dairy products in the olden days. They have as such chosen quality over quantity and that of course shows in the store. They have a small selection of cheese, but they ..read more

Saturday morning at Torvehallerne in Copenhagen
Sephira

Today Matt and I got up at early to head to Torvehallerne (a lovely market in Copenhagen) before it’d get too crowded. Covid-19 is still here and we definitely try to plan our days a bit more ‘responsibly’. Saturdays in the city are usually busy, especially at Torvehallerne as it is a very popular place. So we were there 15 minutes before they officially opened. There were still quite a few people but nothing compared to what it would look like midday on a Saturday! Torvehallerne are not a particular cheap place to get produce, not that it is super expensive either. I guess it just depends wh ..read more
