Do you have hard water stains on your windows or shower glass doors?  I have something that will REMOVE it without disgusting chemicals.  It won’t hurt your glass, and you will get a mini workout! (bonus) You know I love Coconut Oil for everything!  Why not use it on your hard water stains.  It WORKS!!!  You could also use Lemon Oil but I couldn’t find it at my grocery store, and I was in the mood to do it. Warm the coconut oil with lemon and peppermint essential oils.  I really can’t say if the essential oils are completely necessary but that is what I was told ..read more

This is all over Pinterest but I thought that I would show you how to make a simple lantern with a $2.00 solar light and a mason jar.  There are a few ways of going about it. 1)  Use Mason Jars with Lids that you find at a Thrift Store. 2)  Use Classico Tomato Sauce Jars and Lids 3) Buy the Limited Edition Blue Ball Jars!! Buy them HERE. I used the Classico Lid and the Blue Jars.  The lid fits perfectly!! Bethenny Frankel and Hoda Kotb Hit The Thrift Shop – Celebrity Sightings at Thrift Shops

I’ve seen talk show hosts doing the shows live at thrift shops not once but several times already. It feels gratifying, but I don’t need anybody’s influence to make me go to thrift shops. I already frequent these stores a lot. But it still feels different when famous people advocate something you love doing. Many of those who have spoken on national television about thrifting advocate the lifestyle. This includes people like Hoda Kotb and Bethenny Frankel. Thrifting is a good way to repurpose things and make them useful instead of throwing them out. We are helping our environment this way by r ..read more

Tips for Decorating Your Home

What does a home filled with second-hand items look like? It doesn’t have to show. You can clean, repaint, or redesign the items to suit your house’s interior. Here are some tips you can follow in decorating your house with second-hand pieces: 1. Do Not Over Decorate This is a no-no when it comes to home decor. Too many decorations will make the space feel stuffy. Less is more. 2. Use Similar Colors It’s easier on the eyes if you will follow a theme. If you want it to be contrasting, then do it. The contrasting effects can be your theme. But if you want something smooth, you can choose neutral ..read more

Going to thrift shops is therapeutic, especially when you come home with excellent pieces you bought without spending a lot. It’s more satisfying when you score great deals for unique items that nobody else has. It’s fun to go thrifting as long as you know where to look and what to search for. My favorite finds include furniture pieces and home decor. When you shop for items, go for the ones that you like. You may not use them now, but you are certain you’d pull them out eventually. When you find excellent pieces from these shops, buy as many as you want or need. Most of the items are unique a ..read more

A Quick Guide to Furniture Thrifting
ThriftDee

Among my best finds in thrift shops are furniture pieces. But you will not notice the difference when you see them. Visit your trusted thrift shop, and you will be amazed at the options. As much as I frequent these shops when they are on sale, I don’t do it when I plan to buy furniture. I don’t want to feel rushed when choosing an item, especially when I want to buy matching sets. Why do I buy second-hand furniture? The pieces come with history. Sometimes, I’d be surprised to see love letters or a remote control hiding between the foams. This is also something sustainable. Aren’t we taught to ..read more

Electric heating pads come in all forms, shapes, and sizes. They are useful, especially when you suffer from sores and indescribable pains. They help ease the discomfort by producing heat, which makes you sweat. This is why it’s important to protect it from sweat. This way, the product won’t get worn out fast or develop a foul smell despite continued use. You only have to replace the cover or wash and replace it regularly. This is a product that I would not buy in a thrift shop. I always go branded on anything that needs electricity to work. It’s always safety first when it comes to electrical ..read more

Concrete is a common flooring option in most properties. However, it often looks dull and may not be the favorite of some people. Fortunately, there is something that you can do to make it look posh or more fun. This is called concrete staining. It’s something affordable but a bit difficult. You have to allocate about two days to finish the project. If you are dealing with new concrete, allow 21 days for curing before beginning. This is to ensure that the stain will last. But you won’t regret your effort and time. You can do this, even if this is your first time trying. Here are the steps to f ..read more
