Very new to orthodox Christianity and we are visiting for the first time a church about an hour away from us. We currently are attending a church closer to us but they only meet only every other week.
Anyway I know this may be a weird question but what should I be wearing for pascha? Just normal dress?

Hello my friends,
I have a quick question. I am a visitor at the church today/tomorrow (exploring Orthodox faith, etc). This would be my first time attending a service. I am wondering if I am allowed to bring a backpack? I'm just going to be carrying a book to read on my train ride to the church.
Thank you.

I am a bit nervous because I don’t want to do anything “wrong”. Are there certain things I should expect or things I should absolutely stay away from doing?
Also, most of my nice clothes are black, would this be looked down upon? I only ask because I don’t want to be wearing all black and be seen as disrespectful or something. The top I plan on wearing is long sleeved but it does have a “box neckline” so some of my upper chest area shows, but nothing obscene or vulgar. Is that okay to wear?
I’m sorry if these sound like stupid questions, I just really don’t want to be disrespectful or stick o ..read more
