MANKATO, Minn. – (8:30 a.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation is lifting the road closures and no travel advisories from Interstate 90 and most state highways in southcentral and the southwest corner of Minnesota at 9 a.m. today. A few highway segments will remain closed but are expected to reopen later today. Serial Killer Harvey Carignan Dies In Minnesota Prison

(Oak Park Heights, MN)  —  A convicted serial killer is dead in Minnesota.  Harvey Carignan, the man known as the Want-Ad Killer, passed away of natural causes at Oak Park Heights prison at 95.  Carignan was found guilty of killing two women nearly 50 years ago.  He was also suspected of more murders and convicted in the 70s in at least five sexual assault and rape cases against women and children as young as 13.  Carignan received his moniker because he lured young women by using job postings in classified ads. Study: MN Isn’t As Dependent On Federal Aid Than Most States

(St. Paul, MN)  —  Minnesota isn’t as dependent on federal aid than most states.  That’s according to a new WalletHub study.  It ranked Minnesota 30th based on two key factors: residents’ dependency on federal funds, and the share of state revenue that comes from the federal government.  Alaska was found to be the most dependent on federal aid, while New Jersey ranked dead last.
