When April rolls around and the white tents emerge in Spreckels Park, Coronado locals know it’s time for the annual Flower Show. The show is presented by the Coronado Floral Association with support from the City of Coronado, and this year marked the 102nd anniversary. Each year welcomes a new theme and this year’s, “Ocean of Flowers,” was perfect for this beach community. On Wednesday, April 17 the Coronado Girls Lacrosse team was looking forward to celebrating Senior Night as they took on the Scripps Ranch Falcons. With determination and great team connection, the Islanders took down the Falcons 18-10 in their last regular season home game. Final Score Our Islander seniors that were honored were Emilia Alpert, Lauren Hundley, Julia Mineo, and Madison Parma. The Islanders went into the game energized. More than 350 community members flowed into Spreckels Park on Saturday, April 20 for a favorite local tradition: the Coronado Flower Show 1922 Club.
