Oman National Team players Ahmed Al Wahaibi and Azaan Al Rumhy have travelled to Japan to participate in the Asia Pacific Amateur Championship Academy held at Taiheyo Club. The goal of the week long Academy is to further enhance the abilities, skills and prepare the players for the Asia Pacific Amateur Championship (AAC) that will be played at the same venue later in the year.

Oman's team of Adam Al Barwani, Mahir Sampat, Mohib Al Kathiri, and Pransh Jagwani added to Oman's medal tally in the inaugural GCC Youth Games held in the UAE by winning the team Silver Medal in the golf event. The event was contested by teams of under 18 players from the UAE, Oman, Saudi, Kuwait, and Qatar, with the hosts the United Arab Emirates winning the Gold Medal and Saudi taking the Bronze.

Mexico’s Carlos Ortiz upstaged Louis Oosthuizen and Joaquin Niemann to record a convincing victory in the $2 million International Series Oman – the first of this year’s International Series events.
Ortiz, co-leader at the start of day with Oosthuizen and with a host of big-name players breathing down his neck, showed no fear and shot a 7-under 65 to top the leaderboard at 19 under.
He beat Oosthuizen, one of the pre-event favorites, by four, after the South African carded a 69 at Al Mouj Golf, on the Muscat coastline, when the wind was up.

The International Series 2024 will tee off at Muscat’s iconic Al Mouj Golf with some of the biggest names in the game after it was confirmed that the International Series Oman will return to the Asian Tour schedule on 22-25 February 2024.

Over 100 players from 12 countries competed in the Junior and Ladies’ Pan Arab Golf Championship, played at Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia.
Hosted by the Saudi Golf Federation the tournament featured five categories; Ladies, Girls Under 15 and Boys Under 13, Under 15 and Under 18. Each category was contested at both individual and team level.
Oman was represented at Under 18 level by Ahmed Al Wahaibi, Mahir Sampat, and Avi Hamlai, at Under 15 by Pransh Jagwani, and at Under 13 by Mohib Al Kathiri, Yusuf Al Rumhy, and Taimur Al Busaidi.

Saleh Alkaabi from Qatar produced the low round of the week on the final day to claim the second Oman Amateur Series event held at Ghala Golf Club in Muscat, Oman.

Ruwan Jayasinghe has been crowned champion of the first Oman Amateur Series event after rounds of 74, 79 and 72 for a tournament total of 225.
Played over three consecutive days at Ghala Golf Club the event had the added attraction of World Amateur Golf Ranking points resulting in a strong field of players.
