I've been fighting algae and performed SLAM. Hit cloudy pool again last night with shock and left pump on overnight on lower RPM. This morning and all day pool looks better and about 85% crystal clear.
This afternoon run pump at high RPM to get water moving and every jet shoots out a white cloud and pool immediately is so cloudy you cannot see the bottom.
Happen to anyone before? Is this dead algae or chlorine that was sitting in sand filter?

Taylor K-2005 and strips (sanity check) both show 7.5 FC right when I pulled the cover off. No discernable CC. 18k gallon pool. I closed the pool with 4-8 gallons of 12.5% liquid chlorine 8 months ago with a tarp cover. Water was max 60 degrees, mostly much colder. Am I missing something? Is this pool ready to swim? pH 7.4, Alk 95

I can’t seem to get enough chlorine in it! I’ve triple shocked it twice, double shocked it once, and done quite a few single packs of shock. Both my pool strips and my big tester kit (it’s one of the nice Taylor kits, I think a 2006?) both are showing my free chlorine is 0.5ppm or maybe even less, and total/combined chlorine is about 1ppm. I triple shocked last night and t ..read more
