We were delighted to have Dangerous Minds team as guests to share with the current RTL students participating in our 4th Extension Workshops Series.

This is a student led team that meet twice a week and most days in the holidays. They have recruited some adult mentors that have relevant technical knowledge. They are all learning together. Parents are also helping the team align with First’s core values.
Gemma Wildermuth, founder of the team has a passion for STEM and Robotics. She has competed in First Lego League (FLL) and First Robotics (FRC). Akash Ramaswamy, has been pioneering this model for us for 1 year now. We were capturing footage for our new website to be launched soon.
Akash was sharing with Year 2s at Boneo PS the work he is doing with the Nova Rover Team at Monash University.
At Cornish College he and Gary Morton have been working on prototypes the students have been working on in teams for a semester now.
We are excited to have Claude Dabare working on our Adopt an Engineer Program at Black Rock PS which commenced last Friday.

For this reason alone, Learning and Development must be a focus at all stages of one’s life.
The focus needs to be on people.

Internet of Things (IoT) makes way for many new exciting opportunities!
I particularly enjoyed participating in design thinking workshops that explore how we might transform the way we see Water, Agriculture and Health Care through the Internet of Things (IoT) lens.
So many “Wicked” Problems that align with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that we can address through IoT.
The best part of all is that such innovations require the input of a very diverse range of Stakeholders.
