Parents desire for children to listen, yet become frustrated by their child’s inattentiveness. The problem often lies not in the child’s inability to listen but in the parent’s inability to effectively communicate. Important tips in communication: Talk ..read more

During this time of family, friends, and celebrating, I want to extend my warmest holiday wishes to each Waypoint family who makes up our community.  I also want to thank you for entrusting your children into our care every day, and for the support you each have given our school.   To the wonderful parents and grandparents that have given their time as room parents, or to help support our Thanksgiving feasts, potlucks, class parties, holiday shop, library, book fair, or listening to readers, and the list goes on and on.  We are lucky that at Waypoint, we share the holiday ..read more

"Imagination does not become great …" a note from our Head of School

As I sit down to write, my thoughts run to the word “imagine”. This word has so many layers, and as the Head of School for Waypoint Montessori on our annual picnic night, I could only imagine where our school is heading. Excitement and joy was in the air tonight – lots of good food, laughter. I was seeing a community come together with children, parents, and staff; both new and old faces all enjoying the evening under the lights. As the half way mark for our Annual Fund giving campaign, the picnic showcased what we as a school do best: plan, execute, and then enjoy. It is exactly this that as ..read more

Toddlers are not always at their best in strange situations, so here are some suggestions for enjoying time with friends and extended family while still helping your toddler feel comfortable. Prepare your child. Show your child pictures of the people and the places they will see. Talk about them, and share your fond memories. Talk about what will happen. “First we’ll see Grandma and Grandpa, then we’ll eat at a big table…” Allow your child to stay close. Of course relatives and friends will want to greet, photograph and snuggle with your precious little one, but at first your child will pro ..read more

Dear Waypoint Parents: Thank you for your participation making our first week go so smoothly! We appreciate the families who have actively adhered to the 10mph speed limit and no cell phone usage campus policies. Our school is fortunate to provide an education on such a beautiful and pristine 9-acre sprawling campus and safety will always be our number one priority. I also want to thank all the families and children who participated in the Colleyville Chamber of Commerce Ribbon cutting ceremony commemorating the opening of our beautiful playground last Friday. I am grateful for the collaborati ..read more

This year’s World Day Celebration took our families around the world as they learned about the variety of cultures that make up our Waypoint Community. The children loved going from booth to booth as they filled up their World BINGO cards with stamps & their stomachs with tasty food samplings from each country. Check out more Waypoint World Day highlights on Flickr.   Thank you to all the parents that took a break from the fun to join the “Be the Match” Bone Marrow and Cord Blood registry. If you didn’t get the chance to stop by during World Day & are interested in joi ..read more
