TL;DR: Eliminating trigger foods (my trigger foods listed below) Background: I had really bad chronic dry eye that seemed to have started almost over night when I was in my mid 20s. Prior to this I had no eye issues at all. I worked on a computer all day as a software engineer and enjoyed gaming so this was really bad for me. I will put a pictures of the test 45 days ago ( after 6 months of increasing pain I decided to go in a good clinic to try to cure my dry eyes ) and a picture of few days ago. Hello my fellow dry-eyers! I’m getting my first Lipiflow treatment today after having about 8 different chalazia and styes in a month (finally gone). I know Lipiflow is almost never covered by insurance, but I’m still planning on submitting a claim with my plan (Anthem). I live in SF and will be paying between $1200-1600 out of pocket. The cost totally sucks, but I can’t have the flare up of styes and chalazia happen again. My dry eye started overnight 3 months ago, crippling pain in right eye, dryness, light sensitivity and what not. Right away i went to ophthalmologist, he recommended warm compresses, cortisone drops, pf drops and eye ointment but it didnt help. Hey ya'll! About a month ago I was diagnosed with dry eye via the optomerist having me keep my eye open for 10 seconds and not blinking. Within 4 seconds he told me my tear film had evaporated and that my eyes were very dry. I went in because my I have been dealing with horrible redness, grittyness, and even burning sometimes.
