It's been a LONG, LONG time... Come December 4th of this year I will be 10 years post op of having vertical sleeve surgery. I have aboslutely NO regrets. I can still to this day barely eat 2 chicken wings. My weight fluctuates between 99 and 117 ish... I'm good with that. I do have a delima that's requiring me to make a pretty major medical decision. this Thanksgiving I have so much to be thankful for! We are homeowners, none of us got Covid even though alot of friends & co workers had it, my relationship w/ my inlaws is improving steadily, I'm finally starting to lose some of the quarantine weight I put on, and mentally I'm feeling much better since I got put on another medication & we added another family member. We got a great white Pyranees puppy before Halloween named Koda which means little bear & he looks like a polar bear. so I finally had my shoulder surgery on 4/6/21. They were able to do it arthroscopically thankfully & remove all the calcium & arthritis & repair the tears w/o any anchors. Yesterday I had my follow up & my stitches were taken out. I can begin PT next week & can slowly start to work my way out of the sling & can drive again since I'm no longer on pain meds. Still can't vacuum or lift anything over 5lbs until PT clears me. I have been getting cabin fever & eating sweets & carbs non stop. As a result I've gained 5lbs since surgery. Hello all. I know I haven't participated but I do visit often and read the posts. This past October marked 3 years since my VGS. I got down to 140 and since covid may 2020 I bounced back to 165. I stopped going to the gym because I have concerns about saftey covid precautions but I do have a personal trainer who visits 3 times a week. I noticed that outside of work, I dont socialize anymore and am developing anxiety when I do. This causes me to want to eat. Oh, and boredom causes me to want to eat. Well it's been completly hectic here since school got out. My husband lost his job of 14 yrs & health insurance & our home on my last day of work @ school. The next morning he had a job interview, accepted a position on friday for more $ thankfully & started the following monday.
