Athlete Representatives to the IOF Athletes’ Advisory Groups for the new two-year term 2024-2026 have been elected. The elected IOF Athlete Representatives represent the voice and interests of athletes and are part of consultation and decision-making processes within the IOF organisation. Empowerment of athletes is a key element in the development of international orienteering. There is one Athlete Advisory Group (AAG) for each discipline with a minimum of 4 members and a maximum of 6 members. At the recent Australian 3-Days Championships held in South Australia over the Easter period, Orienteering Australia (OA) announced a range of annual awards in addition to announcing the OA Athlete of the Year in Brodie Nankervis (TAS). OA is reopening nominations to represent Australia in the Bushrangers team which will compete against the New Zealand Pinestars at the Kings Birthday competition in New Zealand from June 1st-3rd, 2024. The 2024 Australian 3 Days Orienteering Championships celebrated a big milestone: 50 years of orienteering excellence. Held in the Adelaide Hills and Murraylands, South Australia from 29 March to 1 April, athletes from around the country gathered to participate in the 3-Days. The event was also the second round of 2024 National Orienteering League supported by Wildfire Sports and Trek.
