Recent Events In an unusally quiet couple of weeks for events locally, SELOC’s Saturday event at Moses Gate was about the only opportunity most members had to compete. The results are already on the club website so little to be gained by repeating them here but good to see some top placings in there. Well done to everyone who ran at Moses Gate today. Results are here. Apologies for the issue with the timings for some competitors. The latest version of the software seems to have a sneaky change to one of the settings which I hadn’t picked up on. It’s sorted now and the results should be free from any time travelling! Recent Events After a weekend with no events in easy range it was good to have a few to attend, notably the JK in the Midlands, the biggest UK event of the year even if the forest days were extremely muddy. SELOC had a good scattering of competitors across various age classes. Recent Events Another week, another successful SELOC event, this time on the beautiful contours of Tandle Hill on Saturday 16 March. First time planner Adam Thetford, with support from dad and event organiser Dean, laid on some good courses to please a much larger turnout than usual. Results are already on the club website so we won’t repeat them here, The post SELOC Snippets 18/03/24 appeared first on South East Lancs Orienteering Club ..read more

Recent Events No Snippets in the last couple of weeks due to other work so a bit of catching up to do. SELOC’s biggest turnout was at our own Regional event on 25 February on our new area around Smithills Hall, which was also very popular with other clubs and pulled in around 200 entries overall. Recent Events The big event of the weekend for SELOC was at SROC’s event on the fast, runnable terrain of Helsington Barrows in the Lakes in our bid to qualify for the Final of the CompassSport Trophy. Unfortunately, that was not to be. As our Chair has already reported, we pulled together a team with a full complement of 13 The post SELOC Snippets 21/02/24 appeared first on South East Lancs Orienteering Club ..read more

Recent Events SELOC members made it to no fewer than 7 different events over the past week, with many running more than once. First up was Mark Sammon, who headed for DEE’s street league event at Stockton Heath, just south of Warrington, where he took 12th place on gross scores though dropped to 14th on handicap. The North West Night League concluded on Saturday night at Hackthorpe Woods near Penrith hosted by Border Liners. Kev Latham was our only SELOC representative on the night finishing in 18th place on the Green course. But he does complete the clean sweep of attending each event in the league. Unfortunatley there were no SELOC League Champions, but final league The post NWNL Concludes with good showing from SELOC members appeared first on South East Lancs Orienteering Club ..read more
