I'm almost a week into Low Fodmap and I'm doing it on my own. I just can't afford the co-pays because of therapy once a week. I think I have SIBO but my appointment with the GI is a month away. I hope I've understood correctly that LF is good for both? I have the Monash app and it's been very helpful. My symptoms have been in remission (so to speak) for almost 5 weeks. I hope the timing works out with the elimination and reintroduction. My fear is that I'll be in the reintroduction phase and I'll start to get full-blown sick again. When I'm in full-blown mode, just about anything I eat more t ..read more

Hi, so I’ve been struggling with trapped gas in my upper abdomen for over a year now and it has quite literally made me the most miserable I have ever been in my life. I’ve done the Fodmaps diet, I’ve been tested for IBS, Celiac, Lactose Intolerence, H. Pylori, SIBO (all the breath tests), have had ultrasounds, the whole nine yards with no results. I’ve been taking Beano before meals, Mylanta and Gas-x haven’t really been working either. I smoke weed pretty heavily and have majorly cut down on that and am trying to quit. I’ve tried probiotics, fiber, AND laxaclear (recommended by my gastroent ..read more

I've been waking up gassy and bloated for a while now. I typically eat chickpeas every day.
I've been eating chickpeas, mushrooms, dairy free cottage cheese and ricotta, a few cookies and zero calorie peach tea ( I drink a lot of it). I don't understand what's causing the bloating and the weight gain

Basically title. At this point I'm not even sure if it's fodmaps. I've been trying to keep everything low fodmap for the last 3 weeks and have maybe had 3 random days where I feel fine all day. Other than that it's consistent, every day around 3pm I start getting bloated: uncontrollable stomach cramps, belching, flatulence. It's horrible. Issue has been going on since late February really badly, but I had a similar bout during the summer that ended up resolving itself somehow...
Doctors seemingly have no idea what's wrong with me: Not SIBO, not H-Pylori, don't think it's IBS since my BMs are ..read more

I’m having a difficult time figuring out exactly which foods are irritating me because I can’t tell how long one thing stays in my system. I have IBS-C and my primary symptoms are gas and discomfort.

Are there any stores in the US that sell low FODMAP ingredients like LF salsa, BBQ sauce, ketchup, garlic and or onion infused oil, garlic and or onion substitute, etc? I'd rather not buy a case of something I don't use large quantities of online if I can help it. TIA.

I am starting the low FODMAP diet next week because I have been having some gut problems and I have one quick question. When it comes to reintroduction I know that after 3 or so weeks you start introducing one FODMAP food back into your diet every 3 days. Then if the food causes a gut reaction you are supposed to have 3 washout days where you go back to completely low FODMAP. My question is, are you still supposed to have 3 washout days if the new food caused zero reaction? I'll give a few examples of the options I'm debating between haha:
Example A: after 3 weeks of low FODMAP I reintroduce ..read more

This is honestly just a vent as I navigate reintroduction, but I really feel like I have a mild reaction to so much food, which is almost more frustrating. Garlic is the only thing so far I have a big reaction to. It makes it hard to eat out, but knowing i have a hard line of NO garlic is easier for me, mentally.
Caramelized onions? Totally fine once in awhile, but hurts if it’s a regular ingredient. Strawberry Jam? Completely ok if it’s just enough to spread on toast, but not a lot. Sourdough bread? 2-3 pieces a day is fine, but again if i eat it daily for more than a week it hurts. Tomato s ..read more

I am technically on the elimination phase and I'm vegan so my options are quite limited. So far there has already been noticeable improvement with symptoms within a few days of being fairly imperfect. Used split peas in a soup which appears to be a no-go? The garlic infused oil I have has bits of the various herbs that were infused in there (including garlic). Have done fake meat and some other ingredients that have some amount of onion and garlic. I'm already burnt out on the veggie chickpea pasta I've done or the potato carrot tahini split pea soup I did more recently. Today I caved after s ..read more
