The MX2 class couldn’t be much closer in the chase for the championship as only a point split Rick Elzinga and Cas Valk with the former lifting the title. He was serious all day, the normally carefree Jett Lawrence had a job to do, but once he delivered another win under pressure, Lawrence explained just how much he hated losing after a classy ride in Nashville to run down Eli Tomac for the win. SMX champ, Haiden Deegan, admits he will not be nice in his desperate attempt to beat MX2 2x world champion, Tom Vialle, to the East coast supercross title. Vialle has 13 point lead over Deegan with two rounds to go – including the East West shootout! Factory Yamaha came into the 2024 MXGP World Championship with very high expectations with a rider line up consisting of Jago Geerts, Maxime Renaux and Calvin Vlaaderen. After just two rounds of the series, the team were already hit with injuries. Jago Geerts got injured in the first MXGP qualifying race of the year and picked up left clavicle and elbow fracture. It has been a great start to the season for Noel Zanocz competing in the EMX125 series. The rider from Hungary was able to secure a factory ride with Fantic for the season which adds pressure but two rounds in and so far so good. Despite picking up an injury before round one he was able to win the first round and after the second round at Arco di Trento, he still has the red plate. It was a good day for Mathis Valin (MX2) and Valentin Guillod (MX1) as they won the third round of the French Elite MX series. It was a great weekend for Arvid Luning as he won two out of the three motos at the opening round of the Swedish Championship. Leopold Ambjornsson also won a moto to secure a place on the podium in MX2. In MX1, Ken Bengtson won all three moto’s but Albin Gerhardsson pushed him all the way.
