His lead began to grow substantially and by the end was over five seconds clear. “I just avoided a first corner incident, but had to back-off briefly mid-race, to let a slower SR3 through. “He was stressing me ..read more

It was a good start to the season for RAW Motorsports, with reigning Hagerty Radical Cup UK Champion James Lay, taking three wins, three pole positions and three fastest laps, while debut racer Theo Micouris made two wins from three in the SR1 Cup. Lay had managed to fend off an early challenge from Daryl de Leon in race one, when the red flags came out with oil down and cars in the gravel. RAW team mate John Macleod was one of the casualties. “I had made some places and was going well chasing Andy Lowe. The RAW Motorsports squad had their usual pairing of Ben Stone and Rob Wheldon sharing one car and Rod Goodman solo in the second, as the Praga Cup reached its conclusion at Donington Park. As he chased down leader Stefano Leaney, he began to come under pressure himself in a four-car train. But as they came through the chicane for the second time, he was attacking for the lead.
