What mmo's have really fun mage gameplay in your opinion? Give me recommendations! I also don't care how old or 'ruined' the title is or if it's some private server or whatever, I'm curious as I love the mage archetype!! submitted by /u/MrAlexify [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Your opinion on subscription-based MMOs

Hey! I've been spamming this sub lately due to personal interest but I'd like to hear your thoughts on when a game has a F2P version and a P2P version (subscription based) and what types of benefits are "OK" for the subscription that doesn't provide necessarily pay-to-win or if so in a respectable manner? Some might question how I phrased that last part but for instance Runescape has their F2P version be limited by items and areas. Members (their subscription-based solution) allows you to unlock the whole game and all the items as well as better xp/hr methods. By definition that is Pay-2-Win ..read more

Why in so-called MMOs the "survival"-style crafting became so popular?

Almost any new so-called MMO is focused mostly on that "survival" crafting (tools, buildings, farms, crops, etc.) instead of exploration, quests, mysteries, combat and so on. Is it just me, or it's a real trend? submitted by /u/norlin [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

MMOs and Subscriptions

Hey, talking about an idea as old as MMOs themselves and more so what should be "got" from a sub. For context, I've played almost all the major MMOs on market for the last 10 years for at least a few months to years. Recently got back into BDO with some friends and looking at the games sub model (prolly one of the most aggressive) it got me wondering what should players get from a "sub". For games like MMOs that keep updating and if done correct release new content. What do most people feel is a good amount of currency (American USD for myself). While for games that I've sunk countless hours ..read more

Playing MMOs with non-MMO players

TL;DR - new MMO player enjoys the game but has no patience for the time it takes to progress I introduced a friend of mine to Guild Wars 2 recently, and wanted to share some things I noticed as he’s gotten into the game. He mostly plays console games - think FPS like CoD or Fortnite. So obviously, an MMO is a much different experience. First off, he really loves the game. He likes exploring the maps, the combat, weapons and abilities, the fashion of dressing up his character. We did a couple dungeons, fought some world bosses, some jumping puzzles, and I’ve been trying my best to ease him int ..read more

MMOs with great lore and story

One of the most important parts of an MMO for me is to actually care about the world and to feel immersed in it, and a good story/lore presentation is vital for that. Many mmos these days dont seem to bother with story or even lore in any meaningful way, they create utterly generic character customization, they dont even bother with creating some more unique memorable races that arent just human with slightly different accessories. Sometimes they put the story intern write walls of text to put in random books in game that 99% of the playerbase wont bother reading. FF14/Swtor are obviously d ..read more

Hello. I just wanted to download Archeage. But before I did it I found out its gonna shut down servers in EU. Im not sure how is AION as I played it years ago. Those 2 games were best I played. But i dont know if Aion is still alive enough So if you know a game thats similar to them and have decent playerbase I would love to hear you out Best if there is a lot of skills to use at any time Good if pvp or race vs race with PK(optional) available open world Good if there is plenty of activities that arent fully braindead like collecting herbs and selling/crafting them I played wow and ffxiv. Everyone, I've come to the conclusion this has got to be the coolest most relaxing mmo I have ever played. I'm sure some have seen it (atleast the usa version SUN classic) but you should go play it in the japanese server it is 10x better and more pooulated being the original non classic version! Little bit complicated to start because you need vpn and an English patch for the japan server but other than that, flawless! Just a little over excited and felt like posting, have a great day :) submitted by /u/Branson3333 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Fightsystem Online Game

Has anyone here every played this game? You can see it on the Wayback Machine. (Link) It hasn't existed for a while. I think they changed it to Fightsystem: Battle Islands. I liked both of these games and wanted to potentially play again. I think I managed to find an old email but never got a response. Does anyone know anything about the developers?
