NFL Talking Heads

Our dynasty league had our rookie draft this past week. Our league, is a 10 team, 2 QB, PPR league. Our league allows draft pick trades, so you’ll notice certain league owners have multiple first round and second round picks while others don’t have any. A couple league owners volunteered to provide their commentary around their picks to provide some context and i’ve included that below for each round. Here were the round 1 selections along with the owner who made the selection: Round 1 1.) Clyde Edwards-Helair (KC,RB) – Casey 2.) Cam Akers (LAR, RB) – Nate 3.) Jonathan Taylor (IND, RB) – Matth ..read more

Top 5 Dynasty RB In Fantasy Football After 2020 NFL Draft
NFL Talking Heads

Coming into this year’s draft, the general consensus among experts was that the 2020 rookie RB class was deeper and more talented than in previous years. This proved to be right on the money, as six RB’s were taken in the first two rounds of this year’s NFL Draft, compared to just two RB’s last year (Josh Jacobs, Miles Sanders). Overall, I think the landing spots were pretty favorable. Some offer the higher long term upside, while some will provide instant fantasy production. It is always a challenge to balance the two in dynasty, and the goal is always to draft a player that can produce in th ..read more

Top 5 WR In Dynasty Fantasy Football After 2020 NFL Draft
NFL Talking Heads

It’s important to understand that this year’s class might be a bit different than prior years. The NFL’s offseason is almost certainly going to be contracted, and many teams will probably follow the New Orleans Saints in canceling all offseason activities. What does this mean for the new rookies? Less work, less practice, and uphill battle to learn the new offensive system. I wouldn’t be surprised if we all have to wait at least eight weeks for the rookies to start performing. Keep that in mind before your dynasty rookie drafts or making trades. Henry Ruggs III – Not only was Ruggs the first ..read more

Top 5 Fantasy Losers For NFL 2020 Free Agency & Trades

1.) Melvin Gordon (Den, RB) Not sure what there is to like about the move to Denver for potential Melvin Gordon fantasy owners in 2020. Denver was a bottom five team in total offense in 2019, has an unproved second year QB in Drew Locke, and a crowded RB room with Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman. If Gordon is given the opportunity to be the bell cow, he’ll have a solid floor and should produce, but his upside will be significantly capped.   2.) Deandre Hopkins (Ari, WR) Hopkins has been a first round fantasy WR each of the past three seasons. I do not think he repeats that for the third year ..read more

Top 5 Fantasy Winners In 2020 NFL Free Agency & Trades

1.) Tom Brady (QB, TB) It is hard not to love the fantasy prospects of Brady’s move from New England to Tampa Bay for a lot of the obvious reasons. Let’s start with the simple fact that the weapons are much better. He swaps out a 33 year old Julian Edelman and not much else for perhaps the best young WR combo in the entire NFL in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. He also, actually has TE’s to throw to again. While New England was a bottom 5 team in TE usage last season due to their lack of talent at the position, Tampa Bay was 10th in the NFL in TE targets with Cameron Brate and OJ Howard. Aside fr ..read more

Top 5 Early Players I Hate For Fantasy Football 2020

  1. Kerryon Johnson (Det, RB) 2019 ADP:  3.04 2020 ADP: (My prediction) mid 4th round Now, I was a frequent passenger on the Kerryon Johnson bandwagon heading into to last season. I thought he showed a lot of promised in the second half of his rookie season and I was bullish on the potential of him being more involved in the passing game in his second season. The biggest problem with Johnson has been his durability. He’s missed 14 games over his first two seasons which has been a fantasy killer. When he WAS on the field last season, his was highly inefficient (3.6 yards per carry) and failed ..read more

The PATH System
NFL Talking Heads

PATH is supposed to be a quick evaluation process of what is important in a fantasy player. The concept, more PATH players can present higher % of success. Is any system perfect? No. Does any system have flaws? Yes. But I really like this one for picking the cream of the crop. That’s the goal. Only 37 players qualify for the 2019 season. Points – A player who was in top 24 at their position for RB/WR or top 12 for TE 2 out of the last three years. This has the most weight in the system. Age – 30 years old or younger Team – The team the play is on has to average 3 TDS per game. Not a big a ..read more

Wayy Too Early Fantasy Football Love List For 2020   I know, I know, it isn’t even March yet. The 2020 NFL Draft is still another couple months away and the free agency still hasn’t taken place. A lot is certain to change between now and the summer, but it is never too early to start thinking about the next fantasy football season right? I try to constantly be thinking about which players I’m going to be going after and which players I’m going to be passing on for the upcoming season. With at least another six months until fantasy drafts are underway, I’m almost sure to change my mind several ..read more

2019 Early WR Tiers
NFL Talking Heads

2019 Early WR Tiers Tier 1:  Deandre Hopkins, Michael Thomas, Davante Adams This year, there are 3 WR’s in the top tier. All 3 are very close together but a decent size gap between this group and the tier 2 WR’s. What separates this group from everyone else is they all are the alpha on their own team with little competition for targets, all 3 have put up back to back dominant seasons and all 3 are only 26 years old. Tier 2:   JuJu Smith-Schuster, Odell Beckham Jr., Antonio Brown, Mike Evans, Julio Jones These are all WR’s, who either haven’t proven they can be a Tier 1 receiver or have some el ..read more

2019 Top 5 Early Overrated Players Jeff’s Top 5 Most Overrated OJ Howard – 6.03 – Arians utilizes two tight end sets a lot. No prominent TE in his coaching/OC career (PIT/ARI). This quote from 2015 – “We pay Larry (Fitzgerald) and those guys too much money to throw it to the tight ends,” Arians said. “They’re here to block.”. Sony Michel – 4.02 – Patriots drafted an RB in the third round. Michele doesn’t catch the ball (7 catches 2018) and finished as RB 35 in 2018 (missed 3 games). Too TD dependent Tevin Coleman – 6.08 – Too many mouths to feed. As the primary RB for ATL in 2018, still only ..read more
