Hi I’m currently attending cosmetology school in Ohio but I live just over the border in Michigan. I want to be dual licensed so that I don’t loose my ohio if I transfer to Michigan!! Is this possible? Does anyone know the answer or know where I can get the information on this and how to do it if it’s even possible? Thanks so much! submitted by /u/clutzy-blueberry555 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I currently live in NC but finished hair school in Florida but I never took my state boards. I’m recently back in hair but the only problem is that I have to go back to Florida to take my state boards and be licensed. I took it once already and failed. Does anyone from FL have study guides or resources I could use? Tips? Anything really. I can’t afford another trip to Florida after this one for a while and so I have to pass! It’s a 8 hour drive from where I am in NC to where I have to take the test.thanks all submitted by /u/Remarkable_Ad2169 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Question about a dye job

I have a question. I’m wondering if there is any way this could have happened other than it being intentional? I took my daughter to get her ends dyed pink and purple. The stylist said we wouldn’t need to lighten it. After she finished, the color was hardly there. It was supposed to be the sort of really bright color. When she was checking us out and scheduling us to come back and fix it, another stylist seemed to think the hair for sure needed to be lightened first. We came back and she lightened and then dyed it, but the second appointment was incredibly awkward. I think they work on commis ..read more

Hi, I’m not sure if this is a good idea but is it possible to find a good stylist to consult on the perfect hairstyle for me? I’m on the hunt for a good hairstylist but none of the local worked for me. Is there a reputable online hair consultant service? Thank you so much for your help! submitted by /u/IGBRTU [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Questions about Florida cosmetology license

Hi everyone! I created an account to ask this question, though it may be a silly one. I recently received my cosmetology license in the state of Florida. By law I need to attach a 2x2 photo and get my license laminated. The question is, how exactly do I attach my photo? Do I print out the photo and tape it to the license? Glue? Does the photo need to be professionally taken or can I just have a friend take a picture of me through their phone, and print it out? This may seem like a silly question, but I just want to make sure I do this correctly, and Google has been unhelpful. Any help would b ..read more

Hiya! My friend goes to cosmetology school and first bleached my hair at his house a couple months ago but it didn't come out exactly how I wanted, so I went to his school for a touch up today. The service was only $85 but I was there for 6 hours, wondering how to figure out a fair amount to tip? Thx in advance. submitted by /u/v1rgo908 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Help with hairdresser. am i crazy?!

hi y'all! let me know if this isn't the place to post this. I have been growing my hair out for years and years, I had never been consistent with a hairdresser or hair trims until about 5 years ago. I found a gal and my hair never looked better. eventually, I stopped seeing her because I felt like my hair was not getting any longer and she was keeping it at a certain length, despite the clear understanding I wanted to continue growing it out. I also suggested wanting to move my trim to every 8 weeks or something a little longer than 6, which she was opposed to. it was just too much, so I stop ..read more
