Tourist arrivals to the island nation continue to pickup from levels witnessed since the pandemic and the economic crisis. However, a slight drop in momentum is seen for the month of April. Provisional data showed that Sri Lanka welcomed a total of 107,124 international travellers in the first three weeks of April. Sri Lanka’s Immigration and Emigration Department has introduced an online visa system for travelers entering Sri Lanka by ship, a senior official said on Saturday. Additional controller general of the department, Imal Gunawardena, told journalists that those who arrive in the country via ship can obtain a visa valid for four days using the online system.
