I’ll go. Best: I had a client pay for all military haircuts for the next 5 haircuts for each barber, then $100 tip to each of us. Worst: a random person parked their car right in front of the shop. I got it towed. 5 days later they came in wanting to fight during a haircut. They left and there wasn’t a fight.

Hello, everyone. I'll be starting a barbering course next week. I'm starting from the very basics and have a desire to learn as much as I possibly can. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit nervous. Wondering if anyone can offer advice on things you wish you had known/done during school. I am stoked to join the barbering community and have been fascinated by the history of the craft. I will thankfully have a mentor in the form of my uncle who has been cutting professionally for 20 years and currently operates a successful shop. Thank you in advance for any insight!

I’ve been tempted to get some jrl onyx but curious to know what you guys have experienced as far as warranty goes ? Since wahl has been around for a while there are many documented cases of wahl being pretty descent as far as warranty repairs go . What the case for these new generation of brands in your experience. Is there one you have had a better experience with than any others ?

Everytime I’m doing beard work on a client I really struggle with the stache. I don’t want to take it too short (especially if the client has a long beard) but every time I work on it I feel I could’ve took out a lot more than I did. Especially the hair directly beneath the nose. Do you guys use a trimmer with a guard attached ? Or is there another way ? Thanks.

I’ve got some stylecraft pro precision trimmers. They are dual voltage. Am I dumb or could I just change the US plug for a UK plug and they would work fine? Or will I blow myself up?

I've been considering some new shears for the last few months. Everything I have is about 8 - 10 years old.
I currently have kamisori 5.5"
Sensei 6"
Hanzo 6" and 6.5" (pre lawsuit, about 8 years old) still mediocre shears, and terrible customer service.
When I purchased both kamisori, and sensei. I had purchased another pair in a different model with different blades, and both brands had incredibly small thumb rings. I have skinny thumbs, and could barely fit the tip in (insert dirty joke). The pair I kept from both brands were more comfortable, and customer service was easy to deal with on t ..read more

How many of you disinfectant your clipper brushes? Be honest. Wash it with soap and wawa and place it in the (clean) blue stuff for at least 10 minutes.

What guard do you usually use to trim people’s eyebrows? I currently use a (1 & 1/2) I find it the best length but sometimes i would like to use a (1) but think it would be to short.
