Time is a funny thing. It has a way of slipping through our fingers, leaving us wondering where it has gone. These past few months have been a whirlwind of emotions and challenges, but as I sit here sipping my morning coffee, I can't help but reflect on how things have come full circle. Before I closed my store, I made the difficult decision to step back and reevaluate. And this morning, as I took that first sip, I realized that it was time to open things up again. How did time fly by so fast? It feels like just yesterday when I made the decision to temporarily close my online store. Back in O ..read more

Originally, the idea of shutting things down and giving up seemed like the only option. The challenges and setbacks were piling up, and it felt overwhelming. But then, something amazing happened. After 7 years of running my online store, the time has come for me to make a difficult decision. It is with a heavy heart that I announce the closure of my my online store.  I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of you who have supported me throughout this incredible journey. This past Sunday morning, as I sipped my coffee, I realized that it was time to let go. It was a bittersweet moment as I reflected on the memories and experiences I had gained from this venture. Closing down the store was not an easy decision, but I knew it was necessary to reclaim some lost time an ..read more

As the leaves begin to change and the air turns crisp, autumn announces its arrival. It's a season of transformation, and with it comes a shift in scents that surround us. One fragrance that perfectly captures the essence of this time of year is Henri et Victoria's "Duc de Santal." This classic scent, with its masculine notes, evokes the feeling of walking through old forests, making it a truly gentleman's scent. What Makes "Duc de Santal" a Classic? Henri et Victoria's "Duc de Santal" is a fragrance that stands the test of time. Described as a warm, comforting, gentle cologne scent.  It ha ..read more

Scents for Summer! What's Hot!

Like every other blog post I've written I must sincerely begin with an apology.  Family, work, life in general, fulfilling orders often take priority (as they should) over this blog.  I;ve also decided to create shorter blogs.  This will be the first one.  So I'll try and be brief and stick to the point.   With summer here, one might be quick to assume that citrus scents or citrus inspired shave soaps and after shaves are the go to, and you wouldn't be wrong.  However,  this year, I've noticed a trend towards tobacco scents and also island themed scents ..read more

Celebrating 6 Years!

It's our birthday!   Today I refreshed my home page and reviewed some orders and noticed a small caption that congratulated me on 6 years.  Well if you look at our logo and do the math you might be wondering how we come up with 6 years when the company was founded in 2016.  So somewhere between 6 or 7 years we have something to celebrate.   Allow me to explain. After a couple of years of exploring wet shaving and beginning the process of getting a shave cream manufactured, it was time to register the business.  Stone Field Shaving Co. was founded in the fall ..read more

Well here we are.....2023!   I think it's always important to look back, evaluate or reflect on your past year.  When I think back to 2022 it was certainly a year that marked a renaissance for me, not only personally, but for my career and my small business. Last year (2022) started with me returning to the left seat of the 737.  During the pandemic (2020) I took a significant pay cut and also lost my captain position because of seniority and layoffs.   Almost 2 years later I was back where I needed to be.   All was good and things were looking up u ..read more

The Art of Creating Warm Lather

The other day I went for my usual haircut and decided to get the neck shaved at the end.  Have you tried this?  It's a nice treat (sort of like getting a lollipop after a doctor's visit....do they do that still?)  They normally start with a very warm or hot towel and then they apply a really warm lather.  When it touches your neck, the feeling you get makes you feel like a million bucks.  I think shaving with a warm lather is a real treat and often this is something people forgo while they're shaving.  I promise once you've tried it a few times, you'll want to inc ..read more

Turn up The Base!

No that's not a typo!  Base.....not bass!  In the 6 years I've been running my business, I have seen various trends in the wet shaving world.  The trends vary from scents to label design, to overall product design and concepts.  Maybe one would call these gimmicks- or maybe not.  Like many things, these trends tend to come and go and they each get their 15 minutes of fame.  Regardless of what trend we may be experiencing, avid wet shavers still love to see the latest offerings from artisans and vendors.   Perhaps the one trend that hasn't changed is the ..read more

It could always be worse.   Those 5 words are often part of my day to day thoughts and feelings. However, I've also been known to say that if it wasn't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all. I guess this sums up March 21st very well.   I was away at work and sleeping when my phone rang at 4:30 am.  I've always told my family that they can call me (no matter the time) because I want them to always feel like I'm within easy reach...even when great distances and time zones separate us.  I figured one of my sons didn't realize the time change.  Imag ..read more
