Disney Word-A-Round is Fun All the Way Around

Looks like a kids game, but challenging for adults. Disney Word-A-Round is a fast-paced, easy-to-understand game by ThinkFun and Ravensburger but if you think it’s just for kids, you’re disillusioned! Just like we were. When we first saw the packaging it seemed like a kids’ card game. When we read the very simple instructions, it still seemed like a fun, kids’ card game. But when we played it, we understood why it’s rated at 10 years of age and up. While younger children could definitely play it (and might do better than the adults in their lives), it’s more challenging than it looks. It combi ..read more

Everglazed Donuts – Hidden Foodie Delight at Disney Springs

If you like donuts, you’ll love Everglazed! These are some tasty donuts. I’ve been wanting to try this place since it opened to rave reviews, but never got around to it. With so many options in Disney Springs for dessert alone, from Gideon’s Bakehouse to Amorette’s Patisserie to The Ganchery to name a few, you just can’t try them all in one go-around. But I finally got to go on this last trip, and even though it was late at night, there were still a few delectables to be had – and I’m so glad we went! Specialty donutsClassic donuts – which are still pretty special I decided to try one of the S ..read more

Disney Vacation Club Opening Second West Coast Property Coming Soon!

Reservations for the new rooms beginning March 15 for DVC members. The most sought after vacation property in the Disney family isn’t Aulani with its pristine white beaches and beautiful sunsets. It isn’t the grandeur of the Grand Floridian or even the new chic Riviera Resort. The most sought after, difficult-to-obtain Disney Vacation Club property belongs to the Villas at the Grand Californian Hotel at Disneyland. It is nearly impossible to book a room there unless you hold one of the most coveted deeds to the property which were sold out long ago. Disney does have a wait list, but like the i ..read more

Tiana’s Cookbook is Filled With Bayou Favorites!

A REAL cookbook for all ages – featuring some Southern classics. When I hear “Disney Princess” book, generally I think of something geared toward the younger generation. And although Tiana’s Cookbook is crafted with younger people in mind, the recipes are genuine, authentic Southern favorites. This isn’t a marshmallow and apple after-school snack. This recipe book features such wonderful dishes like Banana French Toast, Muffuletta Sandwich (with a genuine muffuletta spread), Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, Jammin’ Jambalaya, and Perfect Pralines! Wow, I’m getting hungry just writing about it. T ..read more

Celebrating 50 years of fun, Disney publishes two new Schoolhouse Rock books! If you were able to sing the preamble to the constitution for U.S. History class, if everyone in your English class knew what a conjunction was long before it was taught in school, if you knew that three is a magic number, you probably saw Schoolhouse Rock. It’s hard to believe we are celebrating 50 years of those amazing musical shorts which are still relevant today. Those songs left a lasting impression upon generations of fans and if you loved those little slices of magic between your favorite Saturday morning car ..read more

What’s the best 2022 Festival of Holidays has to offer? Find out! This year we went all out and tried a bunch of different dishes featured at Festival of Holidays and had to share the best of the best. This festival continues to evolve and express the rich diversity of cultures found in the surrounding community of Anaheim. Not only does it showcase different winter holidays from Diwali to Hanukkah to Christmas to Kwanzaaa, it celebrates it in different ways. Mostly through food! And even though we’ve tried quite a few things, there are a bunch more that just didn’t make it to our plates. We n ..read more

Disney Villains Labyrinth Is A Maze of Fun!
Disney Nerds

Ravensburger does it again with fun, entertaining game for the whole family. Disney Villains Labyrinth is a wonderful game with a simple premise – manipulate the maze to get to the villains on your cards. The first to free their villains from the maze wins! But the fun comes in the randomness of the maze and how with each placement of the tiles the game literally shifts. What once might have been a sure-fire strategy is suddenly doomed to failure and then back again to victory. Part of the fun is the game can be replayed over and over with a different look each time. And Ravensburger adds dept ..read more

Funko’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – How NOT to Make A Game
Disney Nerds

Poor quality craftsmanship shoots down an otherwise good game. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to like a game more than Funko’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Big Thunder Mountain is one of our family’s favorite attractions – at ANY Disney theme park and we love and collect tons of different Funko figures, so it seemed like a marriage made in heaven. The premise seemed simple enough – trying to get your train to the finish before everyone else, and the mechanics looked like fun – rolling marbles down the mountain for your train to mine! But alas, really bad craftsmanship on the part of Funko ru ..read more
