Hi i’ve been songwriting for a few years now and gradually teaching myself how to produce/learn instruments. i want to release music but haven’t made the beats myself yet, eventually i want to be able to do it all but currently i’m my own teacher so it’s taking longer than i’d hope. i feel almost anxious because i want my stuff out there that badly, it’s been so long. it’s been a very slow process learning to produce but i’m really happy with my songwriting and think it could potentially go somewhere. do you think it’s worth recording vocals on a beat produced by someone else in the meantime ..read more

Hey guys!
This one got the green light - only problem is I have no idea what to do with the production of it. If yall could drop song references you think may fit the vibe I’d appreciate it!!! I have no clue where to start ?

like the title says....can someone please just give me a major record label deal & make all my tik toks & instagram reels go viral today please?
....also I'm a very committed veteran songwriter who has been giving 110% to building a songwriting career since last Friday & I'm really confused why I haven't won an grammy yet?

I've made three videos and shared with friends on YouTube. Based on what I know, this is a good way to have my work copyrighted. I'm not looking to make my living here, just safely sharing with folks.
Anyway, my question is about presentation. I'm not willing to perform on camera, so want advice on what works for you within the limits of homegrown production. What visuals work for focusing on the music?
For reference, this is what I've got so far:

I'm finding I switch between "I" and "you" in lyrics in between songs and am wondering what others do. Usually I'm actually referring to myself in both instances. Should I be avoiding it all together? Making up names? Even though I've loved listening to music all my life I'm having trouble remembering how I perceive/embrace a song when these words are used.
