L’Afrique. On n’y connait rien.

There’s obviously something about the light here in Senegal. I just go out on the street and wait for the magic to happen. The donkey, the minibus, the kids… You said inspiring? When we heard we might be moving to Senegal, I was intrigued : I didn’t know a thing about that country! I wasn’t even sure about the capital city, to be completely honest. After more than a year stuck in France and unable to travel, I was more happy to start my researches. Then I discovered how photogenic this country is -thanks to some incredibly inspiring Instagrammers in Senegal. So I figured… I’ll take you on a j ..read more

LE RETOUR EN FRANCE APRÈS DES ANNÉES SUR LA ROUTE
Miles of Happiness

Un an. Un an sans me perdre.

No ski lifts, but heaps of snow - A wild escape in the French alps

You’ve probably heard it. Due to Covid-19, ski lifts have been closed for the entire season in France. A terrible news we’ve tried to turn into a beautiful adventure… Five years riding in some of the best snow conditions in the world -Japow. Then three years making babies all over the world. And finally I am BACK on my snowboard. In France. To be completely honest, I wasn’t really excited about the idea, as I’m not used to the crowds (I fell in love with the quietness of the tiniest ski resorts in Honshu and Hokkaido) nor the steep and icy slopes (ooooh Japan’s powder snow!). Anyway. I’m losi ..read more

Leaving everything behind. They dreamt about it, joked about it, until they f***ing did it. Here’s the story of two people who fell in love with the great cold, then left their sunny life in South of France for a whole different adventure… in Canada. This is the story of Antoine, Florine and their two cats. You know what -I’ve already told you about these two lovebirds. Yep, they’re family. Literally. Anyway. I figured, since we can’t currently travel overseas, some of us haven’t stopped traveling in this Covid context -since they LIVE in a foreign country. Prepare to get frisky, Quebec await ..read more

Discovering the Aveyron under the snow

Fifth day of pouring rain in the Landes. We get a message from a couple of friends in Aveyron “It snows like it hasn’t been for 30 years! Fresh snow is everywhere. It looks AMAZING. Come here!” -with some pics to prove their point -of course. That’s how we’ve ended up running to the nearest sports shop to buy some ski gear to our little ones (before the curfew), packing up our stuff in a couple of hours then leaving the next day for a spontaneous road trip… in a snow wonderland ! The Aveyron is a region of France known to be “lost in the middle of nowhere” (or, for the Frenchies, le trou du c ..read more

Itinerary for a week in the Landes : what to do in 7 days in Southwest France

We’ve moved in the Landes region in search of countryside, outdoors and ocean vibes -and something tells me we’ve picked the right place. We still have plenty to explore, but here’s a glimpse of the potential : our one week in the Landes itinerary. Situated in Southwest France north of the Pays Basque, the department of Les Landes is the second widest in France. It holds a gorgeous variety of landscapes, with 100kms of coastline that makes some magnificent beaches. Besides that, there’s Europe’s biggest pine forest -a true wonderland for nature lovers. Lakes, hilly terrain, wetlands -there’s ..read more
