Good Redemptions for Business Class on Air France

My strategy for awards points is save up for 2-3 years and redeem for a nice first class/business class flight to Europe. My wife and I's jobs allow us to be pretty flexible with timing, and I try to be flexible with destination, as well. Essentially, allow the deals available to dictate where we go. But we've really wanted to go to Switzerland, and we're planning a trip for around this time next year, so I started to look for opportunities to redeem a few days ago. We're in Atlanta, so like many of you, I've used the Virgin redemption trick to book Delta One flights before. I have Ultimate R ..read more

Citi TYPs can be shared, but expire 90 days after they are shared. If I redeem points, does it deduct from the shared pool of points first? Can I specify which points are deducted from my account for the redemption? submitted by /u/sparkykill [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

United flight not showing on Air Canada

I'm flying BRU-IAD-BNA on an award. BRU-IAD is in Biz, IAD-BNA in coach. I can see both flights on United.com, but can't see the IAD-BNA leg on Air Canada. I'm transferring UR points so I'd love to save the miles if I can find it on AC. Any tips? submitted by /u/petron5000 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I haven’t used any of my AMEX Points yet and have about 200k saved. I’m looking to plan a vacation for my wife and I and we have no set location or date. Is there a way to search for flights with so much flexibility? I’m trying to find a deal to dip our toes in the award travel game while I learn all the tips and tricks to the game. submitted by /u/Bashinme [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Aeromexico Booking

I am looking to book a flight from Houston to Mexico City. I’m a preferably looking to use AMEX points and transferring them to AeroMexico. Whenever I do look at flights on the AeroMexico page, it doesn’t allow me to book with points it if the page is translated to English, but I can if I leave it in Spanish. First time redeeming AMEX points and just wanting to make sure this won’t be an issue before transferring my points over. Any insight or information is appreciated greatly! submitted by /u/dinnervibes [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Does it make sense to park AMEX points with Virgin to take advantage of the 30% transfer bonus currently being offered, knowing I'll fly somewhere in the next 6 months?

I'm new to this, and currently have 80k miles with Amex Platinum. I know that in the next 6 months I'll be buying 2 roundtrip tickets from San Francisco to either Zürich, or Tokyo. With that being said, does it make sense to take advantage of the 30% bonus transfer to Virgin and assume I'll be able to use those points when the time comes, or is there a better place / way to use these points for flights to those locations? EDIT: Turns out this is NOT a good idea. Super thankful for this community! I was ready to make the transfer, but had this "I should double check this first" feeling, thanks ..read more

Need Advice on Cash vs Points for AA Ticket
Reddit | Burning Miles & Points

Booked a trip for next week and initially ended up just paying cash for round trip which ended up being $430 main cabin on the AA app. However didn’t realize the points purchase was much better at 18K points. I went ahead and put that ticket on hold (now same ticket is 36k points). Having a bunch of travel cards, I didn’t realize none of them transfer to AA (chase, Amex) except for my Bilt card (which I literally only use for rent). My plan was to use 9k points in my AA account, transfer over 4k points from Bilt (all I have) and then buy the remaining 5k points for $150. But then didn’t reali ..read more

How I’m Doing So Far? (ANA)

TL;DR: I booked my ANA ticket (issued) with a dummy return flight successfully. My partner’s ticket is on a waiting list. Just want to make sure I’m doing the right thing. Let me know if I’m missing anything! My plan is to fly from SFO-KIX (with a layover to Haneda) and then HND-SFO with myself and my partner on 04/15/25-04/28ish. Our itinerary is pretty flexible so anywhere in the 2-3 week duration is great. I booked our ticket separately because it’s easier to get off the waitlist individually than it is as a pair. I just successfully book myself 04/15/25 at SFO-KIX to 04/16/25 at HND-SFO ..read more
