hi ! so basically my horse is the biggest teddy bear on earth and he just loves hugs and attention, he comes walking up to me all the time and nuzzles me and breathes in my face all the time. he also nuzzles my hands but he’s always had this thing of nipping me and i don’t know if he does this because he’s getting annoyed? his ears aren’t pinned back at all when he does this and he doesn’t usually even touch me, but sort of just nips AT me. his ears are sort of relaxed outward but i know a lot of people say those ears tend to mean they are grumpy, but from my experience it just means relaxed ..read more

My old man “got” cushings last year, and has gotten medicine daily since. In the beginning he just ate the pill with a bit of apple, but as time progressed he’s been more reluctant to take it. Now he’s absolutely refusing to eat apples at all, and generally isn’t too fond of treats, with or without medication.
This horse used to love food, and still eats his meals well, but he won’t accept anything that could potentially contain medicine.
So, how do you give these pills? Any weird tips and ideas, methods you use?

Hi all was hoping to get some advice or words of encouragement.
I got back into riding (hunter jumper) in the last 3-4 years and it has quite simply been a godsend for my mental well being.
I rode in a lesson program then leased then did a big interstate move and found a new trainer. My first 2 trainers before I moved were simply .. okay. The first lesson barn did not end up being a good place and as a new person I didn’t grasp it wasn’t a good idea for teenagers to be teaching me to canter etc until I broke 2 bones at that barn. I also found out later even tho I was leasing, the barn owner w ..read more
