We can peer into, and through that veil. Some rare people are looking into it all the time, for good or ill. Sometimes we might even feel it peering back at us, if we pay attention. Previously, I shared about why knowing your shadow is the key to self growth.  Its all nice and well to wax poetic on why knowing your shadow can be worth your time and effort. But how to go about doing this honestly grueling work is another question altogether. What can one turn to when life seems so messy and confusing; when we know we need to shift something, but don’t quite know how? I pulled together six of the most powerful tools and practices I can think of that, from personal experience, are almost guaranteed to activate and facilitate deep inner work.  We are now stepping over a th ..read more

“One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.” -C.G. Jung. Alchemical Studies  Let’s get this out of the way first: Everyone is struggling with something. Nobody is perfect. And, the brighter the light (the ego,) the darker the shadow. “Shadow” is a term frequently thrown around without much explanation for what it actually is. Hey there. For the past two years I’ve been going on a deep dive, studying Jungian psychotherapy. This is the first article of many where I will be sharing what I’ve learned. I am currently finishing my graduate degree in depth psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute, and am preparing to launch my private  practice next year. 1) Archetypes are Timeless Once upon a time, our ancestors looked upon the glimmering tapestry of nature and felt that the world was speaking to them. A hidden pattern amidst stars, the ominous outline of a distant mountain, the snake-like course of a river, or the life ..read more

Let’s get this out of the way first: No one should go to jail for the possession of a plant. No one should be arrested for doing what they want with their own consciousness. And men and woman who are currently incarcerated, or have a criminal record for only possessing these plants (non-violent offenders,) should be released, their records cleared. Oakland and Denver’s recent decriminalization of psychedelic plants (psilocybin mushrooms, ayahuasca, and peyote,) is a miraculous step forward, while the country sprints in full tilt back to the turn of the century. Good news is hard to come by the ..read more
