REVIEW BY DAVID TAYLOR AND PHOTOS BY ROBERT A CHADWICK | Go Venue Magazine La Vista, Nebraska was the place to be on Sunday, May 5 as Wage War and Nothing More made their Astro debut. It was a rowdy night for rock music and regardless of it being a Sunday, people showed the hell up. Sleep Theory from Memphis opened the concert. This four-piece gave one of the best opening slot sets of a bill I’ve seen this year. Lead vocalist Cullen Moore had awesome energy and a great voice. I love a band that has three or more backing vocalists, and they happened to ha ..read more

Concert Review: AMON AMARTH with CANNIBAL CORPSE at Steelhouse Omaha

REVIEW BY DAVID TAYLOR AND PHOTOS BY BOB DeHART | Go Venue Magazine Rarely, does an artist return to a city less than a year later than the last time. Though Amon Amarth played her on one of their off-dates in August at the Admiral, they made Omaha a proper tour date. And they brought along the legendary death metal act, Cannibal Corpse. I was happy to see all the bands on the bill were taking donations in helping the aftermath of the tornado that went through the Elkhorn part of Omaha. Frozen Soul from Dallas, Texas were the openers of the night. They, too, were here in to ..read more

Black Veil Brides bring BLEEDERS Tour to The Fillmore

JESS BECK | Go Venue Magazine Of course, it was rainy when the most emo metal show rolls into town, right? That’s almost a given, especially when one of those groups is almost most definitely comprised of vampires. But, with disregard for my neck veins, it was an incredible night of music as four acts took to the stage on Thursday, May 2nd at The Fillmore in Minneapolis. This was also probably the first time each act has had a cohesive element of darkness surrounding them, which was neat to see. Between face paint, body paint, and an absurd amount of (fake?) blood donn ..read more

PAM WHISENHUNT | Go Venue Magazine Greta Van Fleet brought their 2024 Starcatcher Tour to the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, 29 April 2024.  I can’t believe this was the first time I’d seen Greta Van Fleet live.  I’ve loved and followed them for years, but for what ever reason, never caught a show.  2024 was my year.   Over the years, Greta Van Fleet’s appearance has changed, but their unique sound has stayed fairly consistent. Greta Van Fleet has produced a multitude of bangers and of late they’ve been the background for trending Instagram reals and TikTok video ..read more

REVIEW BY DAVID TAYLOR AND PHOTOS BY ROBERT A CHADWICK | Go Venue Magazine It’s not every day you get to see not just one master of talent, but two masters. That happened on Sunday, April 28 at the Astro in La Vista, Nebraska, as guitar masters, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, made their debut on the Astro stage. These guys have been featured in Guitar World magazine every year since the 1980s, and for good reason. Joe Satriani taught Steve Vai guitar lessons back in the mid-1970s in Long Island, NY and the rest is history. They never shared a double-bill until this tour. Talk about a long time co ..read more

It was always a “who’s who” of the metal and hardcore scene and was a “not to be missed” event each Spring.
