In recent years, Arsenal’s left-back position has been a revolving door of players, each bringing their own strengths but not quite solidifying the role as their own. With Oleksandr Zinchenko’s future at the club looking uncertain and the need for a more dependable option growing clearer, the Gunners have now turned their eyes towards the market.
Amongst the options reportedly being considered, promising talent in the Premier League—Wolverhampton Wanderers’ defender Rayan Ait-Nouri. Arsenal have joined their title rivals in targeting the Algerian, according to a report in The Mirror.

Arsenal fell out of the Champions League at the quarter final stage after a narrow loss against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
The Gunners and Bayern were locked in a stalemate first half, with the match somewhat resembling a chess match.
A lapse in concentration though allowed for Joshua Kimmich to head in a cross in what proved to be the only goal of the night.

Arsenal battled to a tumultuous 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night to keep the tie alive.
It looked like the Gunners may take a lead into the second leg when Bukayo Saka’s early goal went in. But a calamitous 20 minute spell saw Bayern go ahead.
Arsenal nullified Bayern’s second half threat and equalised through Leandro Trossard. A late penalty for Saka probably should’ve been given, but as it stands it’s all square.

Arsenal moved to the top of the Premier League with a convincing win over Brighton on Saturday night, an opponent that has previously often proved to be a stumbling block.
Arsenal missed some presentable chances early on, but Bukayo Saka’s spot kick sent them on their way to three goals and a crucial three points.

Below, a graphic of how Arsenal planned to / did line-up for much of 2023. Arsenal lent heavily on the inversion of Zinchenko and that meant Gabriel playing as LCB, White sitting a bit deeper and a box midfield forming.

Earlier this month, transfer oracle David Ornstein revealed Arsenal were targeting a striker in the summer. He listed three names, Viktor Gyokeres (Sporting Lisbon), Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig) and Evan Ferguson (Brighton).
In evaluating who Arsenal should sign as their striker in the summer, comparing Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko, and Evan Ferguson requires a comprehensive look at several key factors: availability, link-up play, goal-scoring ability, ceiling potential, versatility, and price. Each player brings unique strengths and weaknesses to the table, making this decision a complex o ..read more
