Al Ahly star Hussein El-Shahat has been sentenced to one year in prison with a suspended sentence and a fine of 100,000 Egyptian pounds.
On Thursday, the Nasr City Misdemeanor Court sentenced Al Ahly player Hussein El-Shahat to one year in prison with a suspended sentence for assaulting Pyramids’ Mohamed Chibi last summer.
This ruling follows the complaint filed by Chibi regarding the final matchday of the previous season, in which Pyramids FC beat Al Ahly 3-0 in a dead rubber as the Reds had already clinched the Egyptian Premier League title.

Pyramids FC’s star Ramadan Sobhi could be suspended for up to four years after testing positive for doping.
The former Al Ahly and Stoke City player has been suspended temporarily by the Anti-Doping Organization until the hearing session, which will be held on June 6th.
Sobhi was forced to miss his side’s last game against El-Gouna and was even withdrawn from the Egypt squad for the June international camp due to the decision.

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) have announced their final 26-man squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
With the June international break coming up, Egypt are set to play back-to-back World Cup qualifiers next month.
The Pharaohs currently top Group A with six points after earning convincing wins against Djibouti and Sierra Leone back in November of last year.

Al Ahly have become the first African team to qualify for the newly formed FIFA Intercontinental Cup after winning the 2023/24 CAF Champions League final.
Following the expansion of the Club World Cup from seven to 32 teams beginning in 2025, FIFA have decided to create an annual club competition beginning in 2024 under the name of Intercontinental Cup.

Al Ahly and Egypt midfielder Amr El-Sulya has reportedly received an offer from an unnamed Qatari club ahead of the summer transfer window.
