I didn’t make it out to the 2024 Mini Truckin Nationals in Maggie Valley, but boy I can’t wait for next year. That’s because our friend Damon Steinke from E3Extreme hit the show and shared some photos with us. Everyone that attends this show talks about how great it is, with a very nice show grounds, great community in Maggie Valley, and cruising that is what custom trucks are all about. The common theme with this show is fun and family and no drama. The stores, gas stations, motels, and restaurants in Maggie Valley are all super welcoming and love having this event in their town. Hydraulic brakes aren’t a complicated system in the grand scheme of things, but little things can make them work way less than ideal. And unfortunately tons of folks “upgrade” their brakes only to find that they don’t actually work better than the stock stuff 95+% of the time. If you upgrade brakes so that they are better at the extremes, but never drive your car to those extremes, then there isn’t much point. And, unfortunately, if you don’t get all the components in the system right then you’ll likely have new brakes that also don’t work as well as the factory stuff in the everyday environme ..read more

A planishing hammer is an ultra simple machine in principle. It’s basically just making the same hammer strikes you would with a body hammer and dolly, but doing it way faster. That way you can move it around to shape metal by using it to shrink and stretch it. In this video a dude takes some cheap air hammer planishing bits and makes an adapter to fit them to his Milwaukee M12 Palm Nailer. He doesn’t want to modify the palm nailer. If it were me, I would modify it myself and not care, but realistically I’d also probably be doing it with an air palm nailer from Harbor Freight because I’m poor ..read more

Cheap paint job videos always suck me in because I want to paint one of my driver cars and need the inspiration. At this point I know what my options are and just need to get the shop done and a DIY paint booth setup so I can get my paint on. But this one here is a pretty snazzy job for the money, with a total of $120 to do the paint job on this kid’s first car, a Jeep Cherokee. It’s going to be one color, shiny, and durable which is just what every kid wants on their first car. So check out Howlin Wolf Garage making it happen. It’s pretty cool to see the results.

There are lots of will it run videos out there of engines being started after sitting for years and years and years. But when an engine is actually stuck, or seized, the success rate goes down significantly. I have had seized engines run like a dream once they were unstuck, and I’ve had some that ran but were never happy. I’ve also had some that ran, but not for long as there were just too many things going against them. So for Newbern and the boys to actually unstick the small block in this 1965 Chevelle SS and then make it run well enough to do some really fun burnouts in the driveway, it gr ..read more

The Long Beach Grand Prix has to be one of the most famous street race courses in history. Like Monaco, it sits right on the water and runs in between buildings and parks right in the heart of downtown Long Beach California. There are parts of this city road course that are tight , and yet there are some ultra high speed sections too. It’s tough enough for open-wheel race cars and Trans-Am series cars, but when you throw Stadium Super Trucks around the course on three wheels, smoking the tires under braking AND on the throttle, and of course flying through the air the action looks nearly impos ..read more

I’ve been a Rain-X fan for a long time. I’ve owned multiple vehicles without wipers and have used Rain-X on all of them with various levels of success. It’s easy to apply, and if you do it right it works. But is it still the king of rain repellents for your windshield? Or are there better solutions in 2024? In this latest video from Project Farm, Rain-X is going up against several other brands to see just how they all stack up against each other. If you haven’t seen a Project Farm video before, then buckle up because he’s about as thorough as you can reasonably get in your garage.

It’s time for another road trip in a rig that may or may not make it home. I mean who doesn’t like a road trip? Sights to see, food to eat, people to meet, and probably parking lot repairs. Cause that’s the dumb kind of stuff we cars guys do. And nobody does more of it than Derek Bieri from Vice Grip Garage which is why we are once again sharing his latest video. This one is all about a Dodge farm truck that has been parked for 10 years or so and is now ready to go home with Derek. Of course it might fight him a bit, just to make sure he’s really dedicated to it. We shall see.
