Hello, I’ve had tinnitus for about 9 months, which originally started during a very heavy set of leg press where I was exerting myself very hard/ holding my breath and clenching my jaw. Since then, its been pretty minor and is only in one ear. It gets much worse momentarily if I clench down or exert myself hard in the gym. Also, certain loud electronic noises are slightly distorted in my right ear as well. Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience as this, and if it is fixable. From researching a bit on the internet I originally thought it was a perilymphatic fistula, but my doctor sai ..read more

Hi everyone.
It’s been 2 years since i hear it, i am still looking for some hope i suppose. If you’re reading this, you’re not alone, we’re together and we are fighting it together. Whoever you are, wherever you are.
My Question: Do you hear a popping sound in your ear time to time? Tonight i was trying to sleep and all of a sudden, i heard a little “pop” sound in my ear that i’ve been hearing time to time. But! My tinnitus actually decreased a lot to compare it with yesterday after that “pop” sound in my ear.
Do you have any idea to share with me? Do you guys hear it? Thanks.

Hi, I just recently developed tinnitus (2 weeks) and spiraled into a deep panic. I noted that the more I thought about it the worse it got. After hours of panic I said fck it and decided to take an old clonazepam I had been prescribed for anxiety. So far I’m 2 hours in and it seems to be completely gone. Maybe it was anxiety induced? Idk, but I think it’s a good idea to treat any anxiety relation problem in your life if you are struggling with tinnitus. It scared the everliving shit out of me and now I feel so much better. I will update if it returns.

Just sharing this as I found it really interesting - almost like a "super tinnitus" where instead of hearing a constant ring/whine you have more complex auditory hallucinations (usually music)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_ear_syndrome?wprov=sfla1
There's an association with tinnitus, but it's not know if it's the same disease process or just overlap of risk factors (ie hearing loss).
Hopefully a breakthrough can help all us and the MES gang all at once

It’s been 4 years of tinnitus now. I haven’t habituated to a point where I can live normally and feel like it has now almost completely overwhelmed my inner life. I remember being able to talk to myself, my mind is just full of the ringing now. Where do I go from here, I feel only a track that only leads downward.

Hi my Tinnitus friends. This will be the first time I started a topic here but I have recently been tinkering about a possible solution that makes a lot of sense in my head.
Now with 20 years of experience I have a very clear image about my personal tinnitus and it's caused by hearing damage. Even before visiting a specialist I knew it was on the left side and and three frequencies between 9 and 11 KHz. The hearing damage was indeed found at those specific frequencies.
When playing a 4 layer audio track consisting of these three frequencies and some generated noise I can numb down the tones i ..read more

I was lying down on my bed, and my room was quiet. I suddenly realised that I could weird whooshing noise and thought "its so cold to hear that I can hear the damn wind." I looked at my window to check if they were open, and then I laughed only to remember that I got tinnitus. Also, if you would like to know I've had it for 7 years, it's going strong ? ?.
