2023 was quite the year – between growing the team and scrambling to keep up with inventory, we were fortunate to be able to transform so many lovely homes throughout the area! We polled the team on some of their most memorable projects from the past year. Here is a quick recap of our favorites! Gate District – Amy’s favorite “This flip of a 115-year old home in the Gate District was a real challenge. Dark wood paneling and flooring, gold fixtures, deep teal to-the-ceiling wall tiles in the kitchen…seriously? But we did it! Area rugs and art that combined all the colors, gold accents throughou ..read more

Have you heard of the Gate District? Located adjacent to Lafayette Square, this neighborhood isn’t far from downtown St. Louis and boasts multiple charming, historic homes, including the one we staged below. While the home may have been originally built in 1908, you’d never tell from the transformation the previous owners (and our staging team) was able to put into place! Below is a before and after of the staging process, where you can see how several key rooms were transformed to make them more appealing to potential homebuyers, whether that involved adding life to an empty room, or reducing ..read more

Staging That Sells

Sometimes you squint at something online and think, “Hey, that looks familiar”. We did just that after seeing a recent staging of ours featured by St. Louis Magazine! This was another great collaboration with photographer Joel Marion and Alma Husidic of Keller Williams Realty, with St. Louis Magazine editor Caroline Klopsky putting together the writeup online.   Situated in the Holly Hills neighborhood, this cottage has the privilege of being located directly on South Grand Blvd,  just mere steps away from Carondelet Park (in addition to being a short drive from everyone’s favorite ..read more

Staging That Sells

There are some truly magnificent homes in University City, such as this property in the elegant Parkview Neighborhood! Set foot inside and you can feel the history of this century plus year old home. One of the things that immediately drew our attention after making our way through the entryway and into one of the main sitting areas were the tall shelves. A unique challenge presented itself to us – how did we want to stage this particular room, given the shelves in each corner, while also matching the overall feel we were looking to accomplish? Our Certified Staging Professional Amy did an ..read more

Meet Amy! She’s not just a multi-talented Certified Staging Professional. Amy Fischer is a wife; mom to Emily, Abigail, and Adam; and proud grandma to Hazel and Walter. She’s also a Dog-mom to Rigby who really runs the show at her house. Tell us a little about yourself and your background. I grew up in Webster Groves and as a kid I was always rearranging my room. When my mom remarried, we moved to a very modern house in Oakland. She and her husband owned an antiques business, Blackburn Antiques, so our house was filled with antiques which were changed frequently. I loved the juxtaposition of ..read more

This month, our RESA Greater St. Louis Chapter had an informative meeting at the Sherwin-Williams commercial/design center. They shared information about color trends and new collections. Plus, we gathered some interesting tidbits such as what NOT to clean your walls with! I was excited to learn about this and share a recap with all of you on how it applies to selling a home. These are some useful tips if you use or purchas ..read more

Home Staging Quick Tip: Hiding Cords
Staging That Sells
by Leslie

When we stage a home, we bring in a myriad of items that are used throughout different rooms, such as furniture, artwork, and lighting. A common challenge we bump into is whenever we need to stage around lamps or any other items that require electricity from an outlet. Cables can be unsightly, especially when they’re in plain view, or worse yet, positioned in a way to where open house visitors could potentially trip over them. Throughout our journey of staging numerous homes across the St. Louis area, we’ve identified a fantastic way to keep cords organized while giving off the appearance of k ..read more

Back in 2018, I was ecstatic to be considered for an award by RESA, the Real Estate Staging Association, as a Top Ten Rising Star Home Stager of the Year. Flash forward to 2021, and it’s happening again! This time, I’ve been nominated as part of the 2021 Most Influential People in Real Estate Staging: It’s hard to believe just how much progress has been made from 2018 – 2021, and the fantastic realtors and homeowners we’ve gotten to work with – all while navigating through a pandemic and a housing market that has gone from hot to scorching. The warehouse has certainly gotten larger (with ..read more

Giving Back – Staging a Model Unit for CornerStone STL
Staging That Sells
by Leslie

Staging That Sells recently had the opportunity to do some charitable work for a great local nonprofit, CornerStone STL. They’ve been around since 1976, helping to provide housing for low income families in the West End Neighborhood in St. Louis, MO. A new unit was becoming available at one of their Etzel apartments, and a great idea was proposed: what if we could find a way to showcase that feeling of “home, sweet home”, which can often be hard to imagine when you’re taking a tour of a vacant unit? That’s where our team at Staging That Sells stepped in – we were excited to donate our time, ex ..read more
