I just got a Kala KA-SCAC-B. The nut is 1.5 inches. Not sure if most uke capos would fit it. Anyone have any possible solutions? submitted by /u/verygoodletsgo [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello, I am learning ukulele for two months now. Currently I have borrowed ukulele concert size from my friend and it's overall quite OK. I want to buy my own ukulele, rather soprano size because it's so cute :-D So I went to local music shop today and tried bunch of soprano ukuleles, mostly with mahogany, koa or cedar body - with price range from 63 $ to 130 $ (so let's say mid price range, not the cheapest ones, made from acoustically quality wood). And long story short, I was dissapointed by all of them. They were all buzzing from time to time, especially when I tried to play a little lou ..read more

Holding the uke with only my right hand?

Hey, just got my first ukulele yesterday and I’m slowly practicing. I was watching Bernadette’s tutorial and got to the point about learning how to hold the uke with only my right hand/arm so you have more flexibility on your left, and I just can’t get it to work, seems every sort of holding style either needs both hands or is uncomfortable to strum. Does anyone have any tips or videos that can help me out? Thanks! (Info in case it’s needed, I’m using a concert, and my arm is pretty thin.) submitted by /u/skelly_- [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Homeward Bound, I could use a tutor

I found a lovely arrangement for uke that has some ultra quick chord changes. I can normally manage to learn quick changes if they follow a sort of tactile logic... G or C to EM for example. My index finger seems to take the lead and my other fat fumblers seem to follow well enough. Has anyone managed that super quick C G F G or C G F C D? Got any tips for a tactile learner? Picture for attention, though cleaning tips would also be appreciated. submitted by /u/shycotic [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
