There is an ongoing outage with SplashTop Business in conjunction with DattoRMM. Outage noted on Splashtop's Status Page. A customer noticed most of the endpoints being greyed out in Splashtop early this morning. Lost more as the day wore on. The install date on Splashtop Streamer shows todays date, so Im assuming an update rolled out. Posting here to save others some troubleshooting time.

Hi group,
I am a very experienced and successful IT/CyberSecurity engineer that is trying to build a part time business. I can build the business at nights and during weekends.
I want to offer a service that creates monthly income.
I have zero business experience and ideas.
What are the most profitable businesses model/services that exist? Ideally models that offers recurring revenue.

Hey everyone,
We have a bit of a problem finding the right quoting tool, and I am wondering what you ended up with. We don't necessarily care about cost if the product checks all of the boxes. Here is what we require:
Integration with Autotask
Needs to be able to pull/push customer data
push opportunities
push purchase orders
push quote
Electronic ordering
not just etilize but also pushing electronic POs to the distributors
We need the PO to get sent to autotask for receiving.
Manager approval
Customizable quotes
Allow us to show monthly, annual and one time costs
Accept down payments ..read more

As the title suggests, I am in my early twenties and hold a degree in computer science. I have been a technical engineer for the last year, primarily dealing with business networking. During my work, I have noticed that many businesses do not have an IT company or person that they rely on for IT support.
I want to start my own IT company at a young age so that I can make mistakes now and learn from them, rather than waiting until my thirties. I believe that I can achieve this by:
Creating a website
Advertising on social media
Emailing local businesses
Visiting them in person

I am still plenty green behind the ears for running my own biz, despite constantly studying so many related topics. And I was hoping to hear your thoughts on when you think it is reasonable to bill for time spent developing a proposal for a client (including drafts of that document), and when is it not?
If there are other details worth mentioning, I would love to hear them too!
I want to be fair to both me and my customer, and trying to get this as "right" as I can early on I think can substantially reduce "future problems" between me and my customers. But I also know I will always make mista ..read more

And how many users do you support?
Edit: well I guess you are all really stressed out. I was looking into this space for myself. Previously I worked for a college and then before that, a local IT shop. I got burned out mostly because there were non-technical problems that I could not solve. The IT shop was run by a doofus. The college was run by doofuses. And had a layer of politics on top of that
I think I can find some clients and fix them up (they will care more about my tech skills than my political views) and I think I won't be overly stressed out. But this exercise hasn't been all that ..read more

We currently use Scalepad but don’t use the QBR / Roadmap functions. Like many we have it because we used warranty master. Currently we create roadmaps in docs for customers but then they become rather static documents. We want to be able to continuously review, move and update items.
I’ve been attracted to using Scalepad for this because the functionality looks quite good and we are already paying for it
The major problem I have is that it becomes a total island. We can’t extract the QBR items, nor the customers DMI information apart from manually from what I can see.
The bigger picture of w ..read more

We are seeing quite a few Splashtop Business devices showing offline when they aren't. Per Splashtop support:
We are currently aware of an issue with Datto and Streamer version 3.6.5.2. Streamer version 3.6.5.2 was released, and it has a connection issue which disconnects it from Splashtop servers but works for Datto connections. If you need to get the end users working again, please uninstall SRS v3.6.5.2 and reinstall SRS v3.6.4.1. If you only need Datto connections to work, keep the same version. We're working on a build to resolve the issue which should be ready by tomorrow.

I'm interested in exploring the idea of internally developing security tools using Generative AI (GenAI). These tools could potentially enhance and automate many of our daily tasks, such as reviewing and contextualizing security logs or optimizing workflows.
While I'm interested in leveraging existing GenAI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot, I'm also open to exploring solutions beyond the proprietary offerings of specific vendors, such as CrowdStrike's Charlotte AI or Microsoft Security Copilot.
My goal is to leverage the power of GenAI to improve our security posture while maintaining flexibilit ..read more
