Hi! I have a history of chronic illness (POTS, Graves’, Hashimoto’s) and I am having some sorta confusing symptoms going on. I went to the Gyno in August to get Nexplanon and doc did a pap smear and pelvic exam. And, wow! Pelvic exam was pretty painful. She said it was chronic endometritis and gave me a cycle of antibiotics. Well, I was having some bladder issues, lower back pain, bloating, and definitely painful sex still. I have also been having extremely irregular periods, which could be due to the Nexplanon. Doc said it was semi- unusual to not have a regular period by the 8 month mark. P ..read more

Hectic hospital experience

Hey everyone, I wanted to come on here and talk about a very hectic ER visit I had today. I was having high hr and low bp so with pins and needles all over my body. My family ended up calling 911, while I was in the ambulance the EMT started an IV line but she didn’t have any gloves on? I’m not sure if she washed her hands or not but I really hope so, she also used her teeth to open the IV flush. Which just seems really unsanitary I guess? Anyway we get to the hospital and the IV line the EMT gave me wouldn’t allow blood to leave the line (even after the nurses used an empty syringe to try an ..read more

Please don’t tell me I’m a “special unicorn” because my symptoms don’t fit anything you expected. It’s not a magical/good thing! Idk if this is a shared experience but something tells me it’s not just me. submitted by /u/Miles_elsewhere [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I (21F) have been dealing with chronic pain/illness for over 2 years now. It started with swollen lymph nodes, kidney issues (which mostly cleared up), chronic pain, fatigue, etc. It was manageable at first. Its progressed a lot the past 6 months. blood in stool, extreme muscle/bone pain, migraines, vision issues, sweating a LOT etc. I don’t drink almost ever but decided to have 2 shots with my boyfriend, within 15 minutes I was in excruciating pain started in lower back and went down my arms and then about 30 minutes after that i was profusely vomiting. about a month prior to that I shared o ..read more

No one takes medication “just because”. These illnesses are too brutal for you to put additional abuse on yourself, although I am guilty of this as well. Hope you guys feel better today submitted by /u/nachobusiness101 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How do you even date or find a potential partner when you're disabled by chronic illnesses?

I feel like no one would want someone who has a bunch of health issues. I mean, I have mobility issues, every day limitations, lots of foods I can't eat, and I feel like absolute crap all the time, so I'm not exactly a good time (not to mention being an unemployed overweight single mom). But I'm human and I'm lonely. Is it even possible to date when you're chronically ill? How would I even find someone who will put up with all my issues and limitations? Do y'all have any luck with dating with chronic illnesses? submitted by /u/iliketrees82 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey all, recently was diagnosed with chronic sinusitis....that's been pretty much all doctors have said to me....its been a rough 4 months of going through a few nasal sprays, been pumped with a lot of antibiotics and I haven't really been given any help beyond those in terms of managing it, my request to see a ENT was denied in addition wondering if anyone had anything they do outside of these two things that have seemed to help as it looks like I've been left on my own to cope, whole face and ears and head just feels off now and overall just feel exceptionally unwell and I don't really know ..read more
