Infection Prevention ?

I'm a second-year MPH student specializing in Epidemiology, and I recently stumbled upon this role. Given my background in public health, particularly in epidemiology, I find this role very appealing. I'm interested in pursuing a career in infection prevention or control and was hoping to connect with professionals in this field for advice on breaking into the industry. I'll likely begin applying for positions soon, and I'm curious about the necessity of obtaining CBIC certifications for this line of work. If certifications are recommended, I'm leaning towards obtaining the CIC certification ..read more

Hi, I'm about to graduate with an MS in Epidemiology and am eager to transition my career from behavioral health to public health. I have two years of experience in public health-related data analysis, three years in research, and four years in behavioral health, I've developed a robust skill set that I am excited to apply in new ways. Recently, I've been applying to positions in Chicago, aiming to move from the chaotic NYC scene. Despite receiving positive feedback on my applications and numerous companies being “impressed”, none seem to be interested in continuing with my application. I wou ..read more

Hello! I just want to know if anyone has a program they use to create interesting logic models. I am doing a program evaluation for a class and I'd rather not just use a blank outline from Microsoft Word. I appreciate any suggestions! :) submitted by /u/Majestic-Cry4118 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Navigating the change from working alongside people in my office to being their supervisor?

I’ve worked with the people in my office for the past ~5 years; last year I moved up one “step” in work responsibilities, but no change in my seniority over anyone. This month, I’m going to apply to our previous supervisor’s position who was over all of us. I want to grow & challenge myself with the task of leadership & program growth; I love the programs in our office. But the thought of awkwardly moving into being their supervisor makes me nervous. submitted by /u/lurkinggramma [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi everyone, I work in MCH Epidemiology and am learning GIS software. I’ve been working on some stuff mapping WIC locations, WIC approved grocery vendors, access to internet, social vulnerability index, general poverty, and access to maternity care at the county level in my state. I want to do some more to learn but have kind of hit a block. I live in a restrictive state for abortion, and would be interested in some mapping of things related to reproductive access, but this has been done a few times already (not that I can’t repeat, but generally I’m aware of all the things they did now and w ..read more
