A Little Inspiration.....

Most of you have probably heard of or watched the new series on Netflix called "Tidying Up with Marie Kondo." I think it's a great show and I hope many of you are drawing inspiration from it. While I plan to share my thoughts on that series in a later post, for now I wanted to share a little inspiration of my own.... This client wanted a kitchen update and I was happy to help! While her kitchen was by no means in total disarray, she was a busy working mom (with four kids!) who moved into her house in a hurry, placing things randomly in cabinets, and was finally ready to organize it in a more ..read more

Tuesday Tip: Start Small

Is anyone out there overwhelmed when it comes to organizing?!?!? If so, I have a piece of advice for you: START SMALL! What does that mean?! It means that before you tackle a whole room - which is a VERY daunting task - you need to focus your energy on organizing one small part of that room. A perfect example is your kitchen.... instead of opening up every single cabinet and trying to decide what to get rid of, what to move around, etc. you need to just organize ONE cabinet or ONE drawer. Personally, I love to start with a client's junk drawer, because they always have such a great impact ..read more

My Guest Bathroom Makeover!

It's been awhile since I had a reveal of my own to share! And since lately, I seem to be organizing quite a few *bathrooms* ..... I thought I'd show off the recent remodel we did on our guest bathroom.  Keep in mind: our house was built in 1950. So, while I love so many parts of it and its' historic charm.....I have been *done* with this bathroom for awhile and wanting to update it. This upstairs bathroom doubles as a guest bathroom and my son's bathroom. With that being said, the main thing we were needing was storage space! So, out with the old pedestal sink and in with the new vanit ..read more

If you have ever screamed muttered these words before, you are not alone!! A recent client needed help with her 8 year old son's room. Having a 10 year old son myself, I was up for the challenge!! #legoseverywhere #sendhelp Here are a few "before" pictures of the room: The thing was, this mom already had a *ton* of great organizing pieces in her home. She just wasn't using them in the most efficient way!  My favorite thing about this boy's room was the Lego area his dad created. There were four 3 drawer cart units that held all of his legos. And on top, a huge area for him to buil ..read more

A Playroom Overhaul

If your playroom has become overrun with toys since Christmas ended, you are not alone!! I recently helped a client give her *very large* playroom closet a makeover. In just 3 hours, look at what we accomplished!! We started on the left side of the closet, and cleared everything off the shelves. As you can see, she had quite a bit of games, puzzles, and craft items. We pared them down and then utilized the drawer carts she already had. Now they are the new home for all things crafty that she doesn't want her little ones to see! (Think: Play-Doh, paint, etc.)  View of the upper shelve ..read more

It has been waaaaay too long since I showed you guys some amazing Before & After pictures!! Well, hopefully these next few will make up for it.... A recent client wanted an overhaul on 3 closets in her home: her 2 sons' closets and her master closet.  Space #1: Big Brother's Room Her oldest son had a *lot* of clothes that he had outgrown, and that needed to be sorted & stored for his little brother. He also needed a system going forward, so that this wouldn't repeat itself in the future. The navy bin is now a *keepsake bin* while the others hold misc. items for her son ..read more

De-Cluttering Before a Move

A recent client called me because her realtor said she needed to organize her pantry before her house was put on the market. I was happy to help!! This pantry was SUCH a great space to begin with; it just needed a bit of de-cluttering and categorizing. Plus, cute bins & labels always help :) One of my favorite organizing supplies is mini hanging chalkboards. They are easy to use, and more importantly, easy to change as your family's needs change! We grouped baking items together, as well as created a few easy-to-grab snack bins for her kids. We grouped chips with chips and cracke ..read more
