I first became accustomed with Pinn through his meticulous scratch work on albums like PremRock’s Load Bearing Crows Feet and Dimensions of Dialogue by Penpals and Spectacular Diagnostics. That led me to his MPC Era releases which opened my ears to his prowess as a producer. As far as posse cuts go, it’s fair to say that this one right here is a bit special. Building on the already successful foundation of A7PHA’s 2023 track, Many Headed, Controller 7 takes the helm for the remix and bolsters it with even more talent. As we patiently await the release of Cavalier’s new solo album, we’ve been treated to another glimpse of what the project holds in store. Custard Spoon follows on from the introductory single, Pears, and features production from long-term collaborator, Quelle Chris.
