Hello everyone! I’m looking to purchase the Omtech MF 2028-80W laser machine. Anyone had any real world experience with the machine quality and the customer service?

TL/DR: is there a simple way to scale only part of a design in CorelDraw?
Hi all! I'm new here and not sure if anyone would have an answer, but I work at a science museum and we have a laser cutter that we use to create manipulatives and things for students and campers.
Among my other (totally not Maker related responsibilities LOL) I am the resident laser cutter expert.
Today I got a request from one of my colleagues to cut this file (see photo) that she purchased, but she wants to scale it up to double the size.
Of course, if I simply scale the whole image, the tabs, notches, and holes ..read more

I have a 140w co2 laser Im designing, and the laser tube is currently not enclosed, I plan to enclose everywhere the laser beam will be, but the tube itself is currently exposed, is this dangerous? I don't see any issues but I figured id get a second opinion.

I'm using the SCULPTFUN S30 ULTRA, this was done at 2000mm/min @ 10% - 60% power at 0.060 interval. It looked terrible when it came out of the cutter, but after some sanding, air compressing, and high pressure water, it cleaned up nicely! Let me know what you think!

I think it turned out pretty well, I made a rookie mistake of lifting it up before checking it cut all the way through, hence the weird offset on the edge. Used a sanding block and an aircompressor to "polish" it. I did not create or claim credit for the source image used.

I was wondering if you use 2D vector software like Illustrator (or another similar software) or do you use CAD software?
Currently, I am working on creations that will require assembling several cuts together, which means that the joints must take into account the thickness of the material I will use for their production. However, I am not yet certain yet of the material to be used and its thickness, which may vary between 2mm and 4mm.
That's why I am looking for software that would allow me to adjust different elements of my designs based on a parameter to adapt them to the thickness of my m ..read more

Learned a lot in the process and satisfied with the result!
P.s. I know the spelling is incorrect haha... I'm not a native speaker and I did that too fast.

Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question but I bought a Longer Ray5 standard kit, which supposedly comes with Air Assist.
I thought the fan I see on top of the laser is the air assist and it was already pre-assembled on the kit however looking at online videos I see the air assist coming with a tube coming from the side of the laser and an extra module and now idk if that's a different accessory for retrofitting or if it's the actual air assist and they simply forgot to ship it with my machine.
