Easy Teacher Style with Stitch Fix!
The Styled Teacher
by Caitlin Mitchell 86

As you know well by now, one of my favorite things is to dress up for school. There's nothing quite as fun as putting on a new piece and styling it for the first time. But I will say that I definitely do get stuck in my ways when it comes to pieces I choose. I'm often drawn to preppy and fitted pieces, or pencil skirts and dresses. So when We Are Teachers reached out to me to collaborate with Stitch Fix, I jumped at the opportunity to see what someone else would pick out for me. I have to say, I was impressed with the pieces they sent my way! If you haven't heard of Stitch Fix befor ..read more

Teacher Dresses I Am Currently Loving for Fall
The Styled Teacher
by Caitlin Mitchell 86

Now, before you read this post, I want to point out that the dresses I am going to share with you are not very teacher-budget friendly. But they are timeless pieces that are extremely high-quality that I plan on wearing again and again, year after year. I've gotten to a point in my life where I'm really trying to buy less large quantities of stuff that will go out of style or will fall apart. I'm buying fewer, more expensive pieces to invest in a wardrobe of longevity. Now that we've gotten that out of the way, these are some of my absolute favorite dresses as of late. Many of them are from ..read more

This is a sponsored post in collaboration with Earth Brands and Sole Desire. All opinions are my own and completely honest. This post also contains affiliate links, which helps this teacher keep this blog of mine up and running :) This past weekend, I had the pleasure of heading back up to Sole Desire to do another collaboration with them and my favorite shoe company, Earth Brands (if you didn't catch the first collab, you can read all about it here). If you don't know already, I've had a long love affair with Earth Brands, and said love affair just gets stronger year after year. There ..read more

Quick and Easy Back to School Teacher Outfit
The Styled Teacher
by Caitlin Mitchell 86

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, The Styled Teacher! My name is Caitlin (Cate on social media), and I am an 8th grade teacher at a small school in Northern California. I absolutely love teaching this age group, as they are old enough for some really challenging content (like Shakespeare), but also still young to not think they're too cool for school. My specialty is in Middle School English Language Arts, and I also have a whole separate blog at EB Academic Camps where I share all about my teaching! Today I wanted to share with you some quick and easy looks for back to school, si ..read more

My Favorite Tunic for Teaching
The Styled Teacher
by Caitlin Mitchell 86

When I find a top that I love, I end up buying it in essentially every color I can. While this tunic had been around the fashion blogosphere for a while, I didn't want to "jump on the bandwagon" so to speak and just buy it because everyone else had it. Well, I finally caved and thought that I may as well try it out since everyone raves about it. And they were right. This tunic is AMAZING. I've been wearing one of the three colors I got at least twice a week. What I love so much about it (beyond the fabric and perfect fit) is that you can wear it as a piece on its own or you ..read more

Favorite Teacher Tote & Bag: Vera Bradley
The Styled Teacher
by Caitlin Mitchell 86

I cannot even begin to tell you just how many teacher totes I have had over the years. Some have been super cute, but not super functional (the straps hurt or they're not heavy duty enough). Some have been heavy duty, but not very appealing to the eye (read: they're pretty ugly). Well, I think I finally found a happy medium - the teacher tote that is both darling and incredibly functional! Enter the Vera Tote. With soft, cushiony, and comfortable straps, 8 different pockets (two on the outside - one with a zipper - and six on the inside), and a ton of space on the inside for my pl ..read more

Branding Yourself with CaseApp
The Styled Teacher
by Caitlin Mitchell 86

One of the easiest ways to get people talking about you and your brand is through simple, yet effective brand placement. My favorite way to do this is using a case for your phone or skin for your computer that clearly exemplifies your brand. Which is where CaseApp comes into play. You can create your own custom iPhone case or custom laptop skin (both of which I did) to easily reflect your brand! I spent no more than 15 minutes designing my custom iPhone case and laptop skin, and I think the designs came out beautifully! It was honestly the easiest item I've ever designed. I've been usi ..read more

Babymoon at Shade Hotel Manhattan Beach, CA
The Styled Teacher

Our stay at Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach, CA was provided for us at the standard media rate. Despite receiving a discounted price, all reviews are my own thoughts and opinions about our experience.  About a year ago, my husband and I moved from our little beach town in Manhattan Beach, California up to the San Francisco Bay Area where I grew up. We (read: I) wanted to be near family to make raising our own family just a bit easier. However, we both desperately miss Manhattan Beach and try to get back down there every chance we get. So when the opportunity arose for us to take a mini ..read more

Denim Jackets: A Teacher Staple Item
The Styled Teacher
by Caitlin Mitchell 86

One of my favorite staple items to wear this spring has been denim jackets - I feel like I've been wearing one to school almost every day! They go great on top of a dress (short, midi, or even maxi), with black or white denim jeggings, and just about any other way you can think to style them. I have two colors - a medium wash denim and light wash denim, both from Old Navy. I'm calling the denim jacket a teacher staple item because they are simply so versatile and can make nearly any dress or tank top appropriate for work. I dress fairly conservatively, so I don't like having too thin of a str ..read more

LuLa Roe My Honest Thoughts
The Styled Teacher
by Caitlin Mitchell 86
2y ago
I try really hard not to be a "bandwagon" fashion buyer. Remember those cute pointy-toed heels with studs on them that were all the rage a few years ago? Yea, didn't buy any of those - as cute as they were, I'm glad I didn't spend my money. I try to purchase mostly classic, timeless pieces, especially if I'm going to be forking over a pretty penny. So when LuLa Roe came at all of us (mostly teachers) like a freight train screeching through the night, I resisted. What can I say, I was born with a rebellious attitude. I continued to resist, until my serious FOMO wrangled me into making my first ..read more
