I spent the morning unsubscribing from Channels that were cluttering up my subscription list on YouTube.  Do you YouTube?  I use it for two things - one is Crafts.  They have a lot of good videos posted - and some that really are so poor they should not be.  The other is Sleep Musics.  With my sleep problems I have tried listening to them some evenings to unwind but I found that most of them aggravated me if I was wound up but if I was happy and relaxed, some of them were nice.  I'm really not sure how I got subscribed to most of them.  There were some from the youngest who likes to watch d ..read more

Gully Washer

Well, it's been quite a Gully Washer plus some.  My car is parked on the street and if it rains anymore the water will probably get inside.  Bummer.  I just paid for the inspection and registration sticker.  Money down the drain if it dies.  Poor old thing.  I think it is a 2006 Honda Civic with about 83K miles.  It gets me around my comfort zone just fine so I hope it makes it.  Fingers Crossed.  I woke up this morning to Buddy frantically panting in my face.  I should have gotten up then to move the car but nooooooo.  Lazy butt. I didn't prepare for this storm except make a late-night ..read more

Finally loaded some pictures on my Chromebook.  Had to email them from my phone to gmail and then save them to Chromebook.  Common fellas.  Let's work together.  Here we have the youngest (waving) at Field Day. The last of the babies I think. Here is the Little Artist with one of their new kittens I am thinking about taking.  Really don't want to deal with a litter box but I'm considering it. You can almost see the Youngest has lost a front tooth.  She wouldn't let me get a good shot! Here is my son and the two girls.  Love. I finally got to the Son's new ..read more

Haha.  Remember these?  Still haven't gotten my photos downloaded from my phone to my laptop.  This electronic world is two steps forward and one step back in my book.   I have finally gotten the craft bug again.  I've decided to make vintage-type felt Christmas ornaments.  I say that but I haven't tried threading a needle yet with my cataract free eyes so we'll see.  I've been collecting a few ideas off Pinterest.  Right now I'm thinking about the red birds my Grandmother made.  At least I think she made them.  All of her ornaments were red with the satin finish and beads pinned ..read more

A Good Tip from James Clear

I want to share something I read on James Clear's post this morning.  A problem solving strategy: If you’re stuck, shift up a level or two (think bigger picture) or down a level or two (think finer details). Many problems are solvable at a different level. This works for strategy too. You’ll often find a better opportunity at a different level. No matter how old we are or what we've been through, life continues to throw new situations at us.  Some we straddle with ease and others we can't seem to get a leg over.  Coping mechanisms and problem-solving skills aside, we wil ..read more

Oh Where Oh Where Has the Hurricane Gone?

Well, Dorian is still out there like a demon in the night.  The bad thing about a slow Hurricane is that it makes it difficult to send supplies to the correct community.  How can FEMA and Red Cross get water and supplies to the needed areas?  They could start the trucks rolling to the Eastern Coast but it stalls out in Florida and there they would be up north unable to get back in a timely fashion, or vice versa. I'll always remember this, one of the saddest sights I've seen in a hurricane was during an evacuation.  The traffic was so very slow and the weather was so very hot and sticky.  A ..read more

Texas, the Lone Star State, is currently in the lead for Winner of the Wild West Shoot-Out.  I haven't heard the whys of the shooting in Odessa, TX but have heard the guy commandeered a mail truck and was driving down the street randomly shooting at people.  I guess Mail Trucks all over the US look the same with their cut-out doors on both driver and passenger sides.  I can just see the guy with his AR slung over his left arm so he can take pot shots as he drives down the street.  Man, oh, man.  First, we had the high school shooting in Santa Fe, TX and then we had the Walmart shooting in El ..read more

Taking control of my diabetes

I've been working on my sugar problems since that last extremely high A1C.  I know the doctor can't get me balanced because she is trying to fit my square peg into a round hole.  Diabetes is best controlled by eating the same amount of carb/protein ratio with insulin at the same time every day.  So if you have a balanced life - get up at the same time, eat lunch and dinner at nearly the same time - you can balance your sugar much more easily.  I have told her more than once about my sleep schedule.  I rarely get up at the same time more than two days in a row.  Additionally, if my sugar goe ..read more

I feel like my posts are naked without a picture of Buddy or some other entertaining photo.  My phone downloads photos to my HP w/Windows laptop without a problem but for some reason, it does not work the same way on my Chromebook.  I find this extremely irritating since my HP is so old and slow it irritates me to use.  Boy, a who lot of irritation generated but I still keep snapping pixs of Buddy and send them to the Grand Daughter instead.  I've been watching an older TV series called "Damages" with Glenn Close as the lawyer you love to hate and Ted Danson as the Defendant CEO who screwed ..read more

I haven't been up to posting in a while.  My eyes have recovered wonderfully but this not being able to see close up is just the flip side of not seeing far off.  I go for an eye exam next week and she will give me a new prescription.  I can't decide whether I'll get it filled or not.  Wearing the cheapie readers is so affordable but they are never on your nose when you need them and I'm not up to wearing one of those glasses holder rings -- yet. My diabetes has been off the wall.  I don't think I've left the house in 3 days and that is so unlike me.  Buddy always gets is two - sometimes on ..read more
