Nearly half of employers in Thailand (47%) said they intended to increase salaries by 3-6% this year, according to research from Hays. At the same time, 22.9% of employers surveyed reflected plans to increase salaries by up to 3%, 16.9% were confident in providing raises of up to 10% for staff, while 4.8% were willing to give raises surpassing 10%. On the other hand, 7.2% of employers expected no changes to wages in the coming year, while 1.2% forecasted a decrease in salaries for workers. Australian job ad volumes are down 18.6% year-on-year in February 2024, according to data from job board Seek. On a month-to-month basis, job ads declined 2.5% in February. Applications per job ad rose for 18 consecutive months to February 2024, increasing 2.9% month-on-month and 72.7% year-on-year. More than 90 percent of workers in South Korea said they consider current climate change to be serious, reports The Korea Herald, citing a survey by Incruit, an employment agency. The survey, which polled 743 workers, showed that 48.6% answered that they considered the situation to be “very serious” while 45% said it is “somewhat serious.” As to why they consider climate change to be serious, 90.3% of respondents said that unseasonable weather, such as cold snaps and heat waves, influenced their answer. Annual profits from forced labour in the global private sector economy totalled USD 236 billion, according to the latest study by the International Labour Organisation (ILO).  The report, ‘Profits and Poverty: The Economics of Forced Labour’ showed that the total amount of illegal profits from forced labour has risen by USD 64 billion, up 37% since 2014.
