I dont have enough milk...is one of the biggest reasons given by mums when asked why they ceased breastfeeding. But fear not you can increase supply by trying some of the tips below: Relax..milk will not 'let down' if you are tense or stressed about not having enough milk. Try feeding in the bath. Ensure you feed baby or express milk at least 8-10 times a day around the clock Continue frequent feeding, even if only small amounts are being produced Massage the breast before and during a feed Apply moist heat to the breasts a few minutes before a feed. I have found that when babies sleep for long periods at night you tend to see the line on their growth chart slowly decline. If this is the case then not to worry to much as you can pin point the reason and rectify this. Try to feed baby once more than usual ..read more

However I appreciate that it can be worrying when out and about or in front of other people. So Easy answer is practice makes perfect. Here are a few things you might like to try to help you grow in confidence: 1. Try practicing in front of a mirror. You will realize how little of the breast is on show when you feed. 2. Don't rush into feeding out and about if you're not ready. After just a few weeks baby will be able to latch on more easily an ..read more

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIsb3LdR3hE A common myth is that it is NORMAL for breastfeeding to hurt and definitely some thing that people will argue with. The emphasis here is on the word NORMAL. Breastfeeding can hurt and we see many mums at the charity that are searching for support because they are in pain. One know that statistically one of the biggest reasons for giving up breastfeeding is nipple pain/trauma. At lactation Motivation we definitely paint no oil painting picture that breastfeeding is problem free and mothers will experience no pain. We would be deluding people. However ..read more
