A resurgence of Covid-19 case numbers in New South Wales means there’s been a change in the restrictions and requirements of people living andworking in the area.   Doctors working in Greater Sydney, the Central Coast, Wollongong, the Northern Beaches and other NSW ‘hotspot’ locations are mostly unaffected by the changes. We’ve also had no reports of locum doctors being unable to start or continue placements in the area. The first half of 2021 could be the right time for Kiwi doctors to move to Australia.   New Zealand and Australia fared similarly during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and soon, as both governments talk vaccines and travel bubbles, movement between the two should become easier.   Few New Zealand doctors know that they can live and work in Australia. Queensland and NSW Border update for doctors

State Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced today that Queensland’s border with New South Wales will open from 1am on 3 November. This means that doctors will be soon able to travel to placements between the two states, but the border will still be closed to those travelling from (or through) Greater Sydney and Victoria. You can travel to Queensland provided you have not been in a Covid-19 hotspot within the last 14 days.
